Thanks for the suggestion of using Bill Steiner's website... I joined a few days ago and so far it's working out very very well. My only complaint is that it doesn't have (at least from the few countries I've worked on so far, Cuba and the Netherlands) spaces for perf variants, color variants, etc....

Each overprint only has an available window of a few days so maybe one day RM will release how many of each overprint has been produced. The machines would give the 'bean counters' an exact overview. So what values really is the scarcest ww20g or ww40g? Anything apart from 1st Class is scarce used ...

Oddly enough there is a market out there for 'genuine' forgeries i.e. not bad photocopies. Some Mauritius collector is bound to want it and as it is a £750 stamp there will be a lot of people who don't have this one and have a space to fill.....best of luck finding them! I hear EBay is a great place...

That is no fake perf on an imperf. Only mint exist so looks OK at first glance to me. That was my thought as well and given that it's supposed to be P11 and looks nothing like any of the issued stamps (this was unissued and comes from the Perkins Bacon remainders) it seemed genuine. I've been asked the question recently as to which, in the UK, would be better to approach to get a stamp authenticated and expertised, the RPS or BPA .
