That pic doesn't do the storm justice... I had to stitch together 3 separate pics to get the full storm!
We had about a week of hot weather (highs 95 to 100F) and now we're back to the mid 70's.

| I enhanced the 1593 or 1598 postmark as much as I could in Photoshop... It looks like the last number is an 8 to me. I also noticed that the 3rd vertical line from the left is also broken just above the "N" of ONE on the top stamp. So probably they're joint lines on the "roller"... |

If you're trimming - keep the stamp and the postmark together - even if it's larger than 2x4 inches.

I have a friend who is originally from Arkansas. He's been making his own boiled peanuts - if they're done right they won't be too awful salty. And they'll be soft but not mushy. And we do shell them... I couldn't eat the shells if I tried...

Using the eBay guide's neck and ear shading criteria it appears that the 2c, 6c, 8c and 16c are genuine while the 10c, both 12c and 40c are forgeries...
Another opinion, but it appears that the 10c, 12c & 40c are getting more dodgy votes with every criterion!!!

| Yes - the barred cancels were used to CTO the lithographed issues. But... I understand they were in normal postal use during the time the engraved issues were available (before the lithos). So, the lithos with barred cancels are worth only a couple dimes apiece ... :( Claghorn talks about the badly ... |

| So... when you put my examples next to the clear example from Grosvenor it's clear that mine are not the "Thick 1 with sloping serif" variety :( The "Thick 1" is ENTIRELY thick - base, vertical bar and serif included. That makes it pretty clear. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums... |
