I have my most valued stamps stored in a Lighthouse stockbook which has a slip-cover. I have noticed that some of my stamps have developed a 'discolouration' around the edges. It looks rather like they have become 'dirty' rather than toning. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the cause could be a...

Yeah, I guess you did owe us some payback for sending you Bjelke-Peterson. A bit extreme though! Not only do we have some of spiders but your possums and wallabies as well! I remember going into a pub in Brisbane in 1980 and having a beer. I was going to order another but the barman said they closed...

White-tail spiders are also fairly prevalent in NZ. I get a few in the house each summer and they are promptly despatched. I understand that because they eat other spiders, the bacteria they have in their mouths is the actual cause of the infections rather than the bite itself. Luckily I've never be...

I don't profess to being an 'expert' on 'missing colours' but as only part of the 'blue colour' in the sky is missing, your stamp could be one of those 'dry prints' referred to earlier. If the blue was missing, one would expect the green colour to appear yellow since 'yellow and blue make green', so...

I gave up collecting NZ new issues in 2000 apart from FDCs, miniature sheets, health and Xmas. I have just given up the FDCs apart from miniature sheets, health and Xmas. I believe you can order new issues from NZ Post in mint, used or CTO. I understand that the only difference between used and CTO is that used are stuck to a piece of card while CTO aren't. As far as I know, the postmark is still the same. I've never heard of NZ Post selling CTOs at a discount. Many ...
