Well, thanks to all who contributed to this thread - to think how far the Exhibition Building has come since I sat for exams there all those years ago.

Must have been great to have been there during the Expo!!!

Cheers,

Two beggars are sitting side by side on a street in Rome. One is holding a cross, the other one is holding the Star of David. Many people go by, look at both beggars but only put money into the hat of the beggar holding the cross. Eventually the Pope comes by. He stops to watch the throngs of peopl...

WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE. In my book hardly anyone in Australia knows how to use them! Most drivers seem to rely on the old system of giving way to the right. We did live in Auckland some time ago where they seemed to know what to do properly. In Canada the system seemed to work quite well in comparison to Australia. Kev.

Where can I get real peelable stamp hinges like those that were available back in the 50s/60s? I bought some stamps on sheets a couple of weeks ago and the stamps and hinges were so easy to remove leaving very little evidence that the stamps had ever been hinged. I only want them for a used stamp c...

There is a very interesting story about Bill Hornadge in The Sydney Morning Herald today 19/04/13. It is on page 38 under the heading of "Timelines". It is well over ¾ of the page!

Maybe with the appropriate permission it could be copied here.
