Thanks for the information. Is any reason given as to why there were two such very different versions?

Hello Doug Thanks for the information. I have never heard of printers mixing the two technologies to produce an item. Does it happen often on US stamps? Thanks for the comments. Putting 1988 instead of 1984 was because I went by memory and got it wrong. Sorry. The paper of the envelope is very thin - semi-glazed. Came across some 45c Sleeping Koala stamps which have a much lighter tan bar of colour across the bottom, than the others that I have accumulated.
