Getting the information for Australia was very difficult. Postal staff simply don't know. I asked Australia Post official enquiry staff. They said it must be illegal because they think it should be. I searched all of the postal regulations, and found only the comment I made earlier about washed stam...

Would doing this be illegal? Because you are not trying to defraud the post office but rather trying to get a postal cancel on the extra stamps you place on the envelope. Australian postal regulations also require post offices to provide a philatelic service by neatly hand cancelling an article on ...

What if one decides to post a letter with some 'purchased from post office' stamps that make up the correct rate but then also added 'reused uncancelled' stamps as a philatelic 'extra' to try and get them cancelled this time by the post office. Do you mean "try to" or is there a word miss...

This topic has been discussed on here, ad nauseum , many times. To summarise ... in Australia : Postal regulations state: "Australia Post may refuse to carry articles franked with washed stamps". Washed stamps is their terminology for uncancelled, reused stamps. Federal law states that the...

Frankly, re-using unfranked stamps is rather low on my list of illegal acts to get in a state about. A postal article can be franked or unfranked. A stamp cannot. A stamp can be cancelled or uncancelled. Franking is putting a stamp on an article to be posted. Cancelling is putting a postmark on the...

Nice find.

Now you need to find another one (or several) and try to determine if it is a constant singularity (a variety) or if it is just a one-off error in the printing of that stamp.

I am assuming it is not listed in a catalogue.
