Ron,
Let's turn this one around just a little bit. You're a new collector, and you're trying to fine out all you can about this new collection you have. That's good.

You've asked a lot of questions about a lot of different stamps from all kinds of countries. We all ask questions, because we're all still learning. And, just when you think you know everything about what you like, someone pops something up on the board and you go: "Wow, I haven't seen that before!".

That being said, what I'd like to hear from you is: What do you think about them? Condition wise what do you think? Have you looked them up in a catalog - seen if there are different printings, grills, perforations?

Type in "U.S. Blackjack stamp" in Goggle, and see what comes up.

Then, Pick out the one you like best of the six, and tell us why you like it and what do you think it is worth.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Best wishes,
patg

"What do I think?"

I think if they were badly wounded horses or dogs, the RSPA would put the lot of them down, as a humane gesture.

You COULD start a new collection headed - "the 6 Ugliest stamps of all time" if you choose to keep them for some strange reason.

Six nasty used stamps, none of them appear grilled though one, on admittedly thinner paper, with the Scott number ("87") on the reverse, for the "E" Grill.

None of them with truly fancy cancels, possible exception being the third stamp.

2008 Scott U.S. Specialized catalogue value (my latest one to hand) $425, including the $5 premium for the blue cancel! Commercial value - practically zero - might even drag down the value of other stamps if added to a collection. Best to keep separate.

Kindest regards

Richard Debney

patg,

Thanks and I do understand where you are coming from. I will start doing more research before I post. I have some much to go threw and I'm going to seek some local help some day. I just figured as I go through these envelopes and boxes I would post some of the stuff to show but I guess you all have seen so much it can be a bit much. I'm not sure what's worth posting so I'll just study them a bit more. It's been 3 years now and I've only studied the US stamps. The stamp collecting world is hard work :)
