I have a small group of covers from Great Britain to Canada - all personal correspondence to same person - many with enclosures....all from the 1930's and 40's and I wondered if I could get suggestions on a fair asking price to sell here. I don't handle this material often, so I'm a bit lost on fair value.

There are no reverse markings and as you can see, some of the envelopes are opened very roughly. Is there any value in this lot at all?

John, I'm sure there is value. The problem with this, and similar lots seen on eBay 'from the same correspondence' is that they are often from and to the same post offices, and using the same or a limited range of stamps, especially in inter-war years. I'll be interested, too, to see what others have to say. Of course there may be value in the contents and the local history societies at one end or the other may find that of interest.

Thanks, Ian. I understand what you are saying......it's too bad the sender wasn't the one who was moving all the time! Maybe others will have something to add.

I was a bit premature with this lot. I just started to work on another carton from this estate and here is another whack of covers from the same origin.

This should be 39 covers all together in this lot.

There are very few clear, readable cancellation names among this lot. Also several are damaged.
A few dollars perhaps?
