Hi all

Wanted your opinion on this Rs. 25 King Edward stamp? Is this a postal or a telegraphic cancellation?

The letters at the bottom look like "...T.O." to me.

If so, most likely TO = Telegraph Office

Hopefully someone with expertise in Indian cancellations will be able to give better identification soon

I had the same thought as Gavin -- saw the T.O. right away...and maybe a P. before that, Post & Telegraph Office -- but if so surely telegraph usage, postal counter cancellers wouldn't mention the telegraph bit in the cancel.

I think it is C.T.O maybe Central Telegraph Office?

Thanks

John
