I just noticed that the left one looks rouletted and the right one perfed.

Here is part of Page 76 SG Part 17 (1986).



Looks as if Roulette is SG1505 and Perf 12½ is SG1501.

However, I still have a query on Overprint T200 which shows the vertical characters on the left versus on the right on both stamps.

Is this normal?

Yes, I have the whole set and as I remember the characters were not all on the same side. I will scan it for you tonight.

There is a note in Scott that the rouletted stamps were sold for philatelic purposes only.

Well, I'm glad I took a look at these stamps, because I hadn't separated out the perfed and rouletted variations in my album (and had actually put some in my duplicate stock that weren't)
