I was trying to get the right identification of my collection of Offical Iran stamps. This group is in Scott's catalog O58 to O99 which is grouped by size. I could not match up with any of the sizes shown. My question is from where are the stamps measured, outside to outside the perfs, or inside the frame. If you could identify them from the scan that would also be great.

I'm no expert on these, but all references to stamp size on issues I'm familiar with refer to the printed area, not the overall stamp.

I would be surprised if these were any different.

Hi, According to Scott there are only two sizes of the O3 design: 20x28mm, and 23x37mm so you just need to separate them into these two groups, then allocate them by colour between the sets.

The sizes quoted should be from one side of the design to the other, then top to bottom.
Measure from the outer edge of the frame lines.

I should add that there are two sizes of the O2 design but they apply to different values (as with the O3 design) but there is only one stamp for each value.

The dinar stamps are 20x27mm according to SG and the rial values are 23x30mm (22½x30mm according to Scott).

Is there a good resource for identifying the arabic values.

I'd guess that the stamps in your scan are left to right:

Sc #O59 10d magenta
Sc #O61 50d brown black
Sc #O62 75d claret
Sc #O63 1r peacock green
Sc #O60 25d carmine
Sc #O72 5d violet & lilac
