Recently I bought a collection which also included countries that I don't collect and hence plan to sell them. So I need the following Hong Kong stamps evaluated. Please evaluate to the minimum amount I would be able to sell for.

Hi there psphani

In order to get the best response members need to see the stamps in greater detail. Try and get no more than four stamps in any one image without the large areas of white page in the image.

I suspect you are also going to need to learn how to differentiate between the watermarks, from memory there are a couple of variations for each monarch.

Regards

Feebletodix

Feebletodix has said what I was about to. 8)

HK defins range from frustrating to downright devilish. The QV era can be particularly troublesome, as the same stamp facially (colour and face value) went through several issues, and is distinguished by different watermarks.

Watermarks of course won't show up in a normal scan, so the closest we might be able to do for you is say "if it has CA its #X worth $20, but if its CC its #Y worth $2".

Postmarks won't always help, as the standard B62 killer was often employed, so you can't just say "ah its postmarked 1882, so it can't be the 1885 issue". That's a handy trick when picking apart the various 'Roo watermarks. :(

And do crop your full-page scans into small groups, as its hard to make out much of anything from there.

Using any photo-editing software, even just Microsoft Paint, you can crop the scans you have to extract smaller pieces.

Assuming you have identified them correctly, and reminding you that you asked for minimum value, and...........if I was the buyer. Here is what I would pay.

First image. Both stamps are badly damaged and if I wanted to fill a space I would pay $2 for both.
Second image. [2c/= $4] [4c/= $1] [6c/= $1]
Third image. [8c/= $1] [12c/= x] [24c/=$2] [30c/=x]

By the way the x means nil.

Forth image. [30c/= .50c]
Fifth image. x for all
Sixth image. [5c/= x] [10c/= $2]
Seventh image. [10c/=10c] [30c/= $4] [10c/= $2]

Eighth image. [20c/= $1] [$1/= $4Perfin]

Huanga.
