Hello,
I have these miniature sheets issued in 2005 to celebrate 75 years of the Dandi March (Salt Satyagraha) Scott # 2103a.(Miniature Sheet). They have a major perforation error in both horizontal and vertical which runs across the stamps. Also an extra horizontal top perforation.

(Stamps clockwise from top-left): 1- Marchers led by Mahatma Gandhi. 2-Headlines of the "Bombay Chronicle" of March 13, 1930 announces the beginning of the "Great March for Liberty". 3-Lines written by Mahatma Gandhi on April 5, 1930. " I want world sympathy in this battle of Right against the might. 4-Mahatma Gandhi picking up a lump of Salt and the course traversed.

The pictures below should help better to show the perforation error.

I would appreciate if anybody would help me estimate what its value would be if I were to want to sell them.
Many thanks in advance.

All things Gandhi are red hot as we know and this looks very striking.

I'd give it to a large REAL Auction house and see how you go.

Sir,
Thank you for the advice, I am a novice collector and got this item with my Philatelic Deposit Account (PDA) at a local GPO.
I understand Gandhi stamps are fetching a good price these days.
Can you/someone recommend a real (??) auction house I could get in touch with and might be interested?
Regards

In India, you can approach http://www.marudhararts.com or http://www.ariesauctions.com

or as alternative, you can try your luck selling in eBay India.

Thank you, 'ariesauctions' looks interesting, I shall contact them.

However, I am still unsure of what price to ask for/expect... :?: :?:

As you are based in Mumbai, you should search for local stamp dealers and get a quote from all dealers :)

You should then go to eBay list it with minimum starting price as quoted by a dealer (Highest price), if it sells more on eBay (be happy) else go back to him and sell him at the same price :)

Yes, rajjesh this looks like an option... :)
However, when I contacted 2 dealers they wanted me to quote as to how much I am expecting for it and refused to make an offer :!:
The problem here is that I have not seen this Perforation error Gandhi MS on sale earlier on ebay or any place else on the internet (so how rare is it?) how much is the demand for this item (demand vs Supply would determine the price), I know there is a demand for Gandhi Stamps so is this a good time or better to wait.....etc.
The dealers on the other hand have their contacts/buyers and would be able to answer all these questions but will not.....:?
I guess if I don't get some quotes to compare my son will inherit it...
Thx for your time...CHEERS!

Not to Rock your boat.. the mint of this should be available for Rs. 150.. and i know whole of collectors in Delhi who would give free to you if you are a collector :)

Moreover, start your offer at 5000 bucks, and if you end up at Rs. 3000 it should be a good deal (In my opinion, I could be wrong as I do not collect Errors) :)
