I too am interested in different religions, and have read a few books on Buddhism. I make a point of going to the large temple in Niagara Falls, Ontario whenever I am there. It is Magnificent!

Cham Shan Temple

I am currently discovering the world of Rastafari, and yes, I have seen those Amazing sheets of stamps with the Lion on them that Glen has on his website. 8)

Is this why you don't have many female students, Iomoon?

Nope,

it's because most female students seem to prefer Biology, and to a slightly lesser extent, chemistry (among the Sciences).

BTW, my wife was my student.

I had an affair with my composition professor for a while and then he retired and turned into a priest (which I am pretty sure isn't a good thing concerning me - at least I didn't turn him gay I guess).

By the way, as to the above, this must be why every class I take of yours someone at some point asked me if I am a Biologist. I always thought that that was the most random question but I would just say "no" and then they say "oh, so you are a Geology major then?" And I say "no" then they say "so why are are you here?" And I say "because I am a student of Dr. S's." And they go "uh ooo - huh?" Seems I actually knew one of the current ones pretty well too, I was talking to him the other day after class and he knows where I worked in 1995, my history with Kevin, etc. And I just can't place him, he looks familiar but I can't remember him from anywhere specific. Someone who was here as an undergrad, left for a long time (like 13 years) and just came back maybe?

I can see a TV soap script coming out of this,,
auditions next week.

No, I live in Brisbane, but the rhinoceros story happened in Nepal. We were travelling through Chitwan National Park when our guide started yelling, "Up tree, Up tree". I looked around and realised that my fellow hikers had indeed gone "Up tree", and I decided to join them, just as a cranky rhino came charging out of the undergrowth.

I'm moving on to another random fact, because I am so interesting.

For a while in 1986 I was both a paper boy and a bartender at the same time. I hung onto the kids job all through highschool which was probably a mistake. It was fun telling the old grannies on my paper route what my other job was though...

Hey, that's cool. I thought all Aussies rode Vstroms and KTMs. My bike is an old Shadow 1100 that I've had for 22 years. The riding season here in Canada is just about over.. :(

As a child, over the course of several years, I was twice hit by a car as I was playing ball in the street. (No major injuries.) The same guy did it both times!! True story. But he was a very nice guy. Lived a few houses down the street from me. 50 years later I can still picture his maroon colored car; and his name was Mr. Brooks.

I delivered all three of my children at home.

yes, we had a G.P., and an OB-Gyn, and a mid-wife, and were pre-registered at a hospital for emergencies, and had two assistants, so no freakin' out!

I've never had a broken bone yet, or been ultrally-badly-ill in hospital.

Oh, and I HATE skim milk. Full Cream Milk is the only way to go, same as with proper butter instead of margarine, and normal-fat cream, and normal-fat yoghurt!
