So sail away on this offer.

You have always wanted to go to Paris. Why bother when you can feel like you were there with this Panorama of Paris?

So there you have it. Any takers?

What am I supposed to put up if I really want this, but I have almost nothing to give away? I am not a big dealer.

Shero,
Duckie posted his offer October 3rd, 2009, 11:39 am

Today at 903am I accepted the offer

Quote:
duckky_123,

If the others are willing to allow a bend in the rules to keep the thread moving I will accept your offer. I will post my offer when I get home from work and I promise it will be better than my last offer.

blueparrot made his post at 946am

Quote:
I will offer these.

I have many more

Mike Peters

According to rule 3 shouldn't the duckie offer go to me?
Quote:
3. The first poster accepting the free offer, by posting an acceptance post in the thread, must then, within 24 hours, post up a free offer of similar or greater quality/value. Please DO NOT criticise a freebie on the thread, that would defeat the purpose! If you think that, perhaps, value may not be there, drop an email to a mod and let them take care of any issues.

I was the first to accept the offer and I am well within my 24 time frame.

Thanks

You're right, I didn't see the "rule bending" post.

They're yours. Sorry Blueparrot! It's all about the timing.

Erik, do I assume that you're not accepting the offer as you have nothing to give?

If so, I will accept the offer from eqnox!

I'm not sure where I stand in all this. Looks like I've created a bit of a mess. I do understand that I should not have posted on the thread, as per rules on qualifying, for which I have already apologized.

My offer was then to forward Australian stamps, separate from actual participation in the Pay if Forward concept, to the first person to put in their knock.

I have no expectation of anything in return, as just compensation for my having jumped into this thread when I shouldn't have. I would then step back and allow this thread to continue as per usual and wait my turn.

The way I see it, although final decision is out of my hands, my stamps do not qualify as part of the Pay it Forward momentum, as I do not qualify to participate. "eqnox" clearly put in his knock first for my withdrawn Australian, and has also put up an amazing offer to continue the thread.

I await further instructions.

I've just notice that this post from "sherro" (the originator of this thread) sounds like a "rule bending" acceptance.

I'm OK to let this go. Sadly, Ducky does indeed not receive anything (as the previous offer was "dead"), but has put up a nice selection of Australia accepted by eqnox 8) . Therefore, Ducky has grabbed a bit of Karma!

Phew!

I sent my address to Duckie. I'll see if I can send him something when he gets back to me.

Sherro, What is your address? I'll get the items ready to ship when your offer is accepted.

I've accepted eqnox's lot, so here is my offering.

Ten Commonwealth miniature sheets, from Nauru, Norfolk Island, Christmas Island, Ghana, Gibraltar, Isle of Man, New Zealand and Ascension/St Helena/Tristan da Cunha. A nice lot, I hope someone likes them.

Sherro, I accept your offer. I have found something that I hope someone will like. I have ~150 DDR used stamps, a bunch of cto's, a bundle of Irish defin's, and a grab-bag of ordinary US on/off paper. Sorry, not really a great offer, but the best I have. (I'm still a beginner collector. ) I will try to get a scan tomorrow, as it is nearing nighttime here. 8)

eqnox's Aussie stamps began their postal journey this morning, as promised. Used a nice $2.10 Kangaroo International Post stamp on the cover, and had the kind post office assistant carefully hand frank the stamp. :D Good to see this thread has plenty of life left in it :!:

No need to send me anything eqnox. The opportunity to contribute to this thread as a beginning StampBoarder without expectation is reward enough. I was pleased to see the Aussie stamps were quickly accepted with enthusiasm, and I'm sure you will enjoy them. Your follow up stamps that you posted to secure the Aussie stamps were exceedingly generous, so I'm sure you've done your bit to be Karma rich :D :) :) :P

The package is off to Sherro. It was more than I expected in shipping but it is all good. I included some airmail labels for him to pass onto Erik. I saw he was looking for some in a different thread. The person as the post office was very confused as to what I was doing. He had actually printed out a meter label when I asked for stamps. I made him return it and sell me stamps. I tried it us a full mini sheet but becuase it is peel and stick it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do. I will be interested in a photo when it arrives. I've attached a poor quality photo from the post office as a teaser.

Hello sjj

This is a Pay it foreward, I thought different rules applied to this thread, not direct exchanges.

Also, you do not have the 20/20 minimum qualifications need.

Hello Eric,

You should also be aware of the same things when dealing with others.

duckky_123's offer arrived yesterday. I haven't had a chance to look at it much but it appears everything made it here safe and sound. Thank you. I hope Sherro will get my offer soon.

Hi sjj,
Don't let it get you down too much. At least you didn't post up an offer, only to discover the thread's rules when it was too late, like I did.   I'm sure the thread will still be here when we can both qualify. :D  :D

I like this thread... not only because it's nice to see people pay it forward, but its amusing how much confusion it has managed to create over what should be a simple system!!! hehehe

Erik's offer is officially dead, and my offer of the mini-sheets is live again. I'm lucky, because something is on the way to me as Erik took up my offer. To balance my karma, someone needs to take my mini-sheets and offer something in return.

Who's going to step up?

NOTHING!! You took my offer, and listed stamps for exchange. Yours weren't taken up, so you keep them and we move on.

blueparrot,
It has been 7 days since your offer was posted. Do you wish to update your offer?

Would anyone else like to offer something?

sherro,
Did you want to adjust your offer to maybe get the thread on track again?

Sorry guys!

I am still terribly sick and stamps are not my main concern. I would
love to continue this, but at this time I have no feeling or energy to
continue. I regretfully retire from my position this time, and withdraw
my offer.

I will join the stream at a later date - but those wanting trades please
email you offers, but on the understanding that they dont get instant
instant replies. I really am sick guys....Sorry.

I keep looking... I maybe sick, but not totally dead.

Mike /half dead parrot

Blueparrot, sorry to hear that you are unwell. Your position is clearly understood.

Rather than me adjust my offer, it's now open for someone else to accept my miniature sheets and offer something up.

Just a bump for the thread and Sherro's offer. I've got a second offer packet ready to go when the thread gets moving again.

Ok I will take up Sherro's offer, and I offer these PNG stamps, includes a number of complete sets.

I'll pick up Ann's offer.

Here's my offer: mint (never hinged) UK.

Note: the dickens block has some toning on two stamps.
Note2: and charlie-boy isn't missing the corner tooth. It was folded :(
