When I was 12 or 13, I was a Vice President of the Junior Philatelists of America (JPA). I bet it had 200 members at the time, and had a newsletter and exchange circuit, among other services. Sometime along the way, I figured that the JPA folded. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that knows how things would down with the JPA, and if there are any former members on here - I would love to hear what you remember of the organization.

There's a Facebook group, Junior Philatelists of America Alumni. An obvious place to connect with people.

This link,http://www.manta.com/c/mr5pf48/junior-philatelists-of-america says

Quote:
Junior Philatelists Of America in Eagle River, AK is a private company categorized under High School, Junior or Senior, Nec. Our records show it was established in 2010 and incorporated in Alaska.

I tried Facebook, and am a part of that group, but no one seems to have any answers there. I just thought I would try on here to get a discussion going about that organization in particular, and about trying to expand youth philately generally.

Contrary to the information that was found, JPA pre-dates 2010 by a long shot. Perhaps someone re-incorporated the organization to give it another go?

There's a link at

http://www.abc-directory.com/site/4378902
to the JPA website,

http://www.jpastamps.org/

but the site doesn't load.

There's a large number of USA members here, you can't be the only one that knows the group. 8)
