I know it's early... if I don't do it now, it will pass me by. So when you start again collecting nominations, I'd like to nominate Canada Stamper, for her very interesting and informative thread on organ and blood donation.

I for one, had no idea there was such a plethora of issues across so many countries, cultures, people groups, religions and secular societies. It is truly a need that is a non-respecter of persons.

I have been thoroughly enjoying the education her interesting thread has been providing and if you haven't been following it, you should! I don't know if she plans on putting together an exhibit, but it is certainly well on the way.

I would like to nominate bazza4338 for the thread

Censored Covers - with background notes, photos etc.

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=34177

This thread (IMHO), supplies not only vast amounts of information relating to the item in question, but also provides an education into areas outside of my normal collecting intrests.

The presentation of scans of the cover in question and all supporting / related information is also a reminder to all of us how this should be presented for future readers ...

This month I would like to nominate traralgon3844 for Something Fishy with "stamps_fishing" on eBay! FORGERIES!!
Great investigative work done by detective traralgon3844 in exposing a fraudulent seller.

Thank you.

P.S. Perhaps we should have a sticky thread that lists such sellers?

For July I'd like to nominate Nethryk for his huge contribution to making Stampboards a more beautiful and well-informed place.

The main thread I'm nominating is Engraved beauties

http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16852&p=2956024&hilit=engraved+beauties#p2956024

Nethryk has contributed countless high quality images with catalogue details to this thread and anyone who hasn't been a regular visitor is missing out on a true treat, regardless of your collecting interest.

Moreover, he has also been active on a number of threads in the Share with others here your NICE looking stamp and cover images forum adding images and details to a number of thematic threads.

A really valuable contributor to the board and deserving of recognition.

MargoZ, I would also like to nominate Nethryk for his thread on Engraved Beauties.

There are so many beautiful stamps there and so much information as well. I found it very interesting and had me pulling out all my different albums to compare stamps and "really" have a good look at them.

Can I also support nethryk's nomination here? Everywhere I go to post an image he's already been and his images have inspired me to find out how to make my images even better so they add more value to the boards/threads.

On top of this when I first joined the boards he was immensely kind with his time exchanging emails with me and pointing me in the right direction. I wouldn't be where I am today without his support.

I'll get in quick here.
I nominate jjarmstrong47 for:-

WWII war letters & covers of Brian Watt
http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=27540

He bought the letters from the originator of the topic and has been sharing these war letters with us for many moons. After reading so many letters it feels like we are related to the writer, in fact, I think of him as Uncle Brian

Thanks guys and gals, it was a labour of love.

I think my work with stamps-fishing is done, his feedback is set to private so he can't sell.

All we have to do now is keep an eye out for his next devious identity.

This month I would like to nominate bazza4338 again for a very informative and well researched thread, Censored Covers - with background notes, photos etc. bazza4338 has put in a lot of time and research to produce a very interesting thread.

Furthermore, bazza4338 has made a significant contribution to the Australian Postmark Database which also deserves a mention.

Thank you.

Wow! Thankyou very much. Brian and his family have become very close to quite a few of us and it is great to know that after we finish reading this saga the letters are going back to the family archive. I find him inspirational.
We forget sometimes that not all the soldiers that served charged into battle. Many did mundane jobs in the background but they still gave up some of the best years of their lives for the country. Brian accepts what needs to be done and gets on with it with very little complaint.

This is a *BUMP* to remind people that we only have a week until the end of the month, and so far we haven't had one single nomination

Remember, this is the place to show your appreciation for any thread, or post, which has helped you!

For September, I would like to nominate bazza4338 again for his Censored Covers - with background notes, photos etc. thread. The thread is well worth a read.

Thank you.

..and once again I would nominate nethryk for his continuous and excellent posting on many threads, not least of which are Engraved Stamp beauties, MAPS on stamps and War Images. IMHO his quality of scans and description of the stamp, year, catalogue number (across a variety of catalogues) and information about the engraver/country/history adds immeasurably to the quality of the board.

Add to that the fact that his images actually raise the bar when it comes to quality on this site, and they have forced me and many others to considerably up our game to try to emulate those images. I know I'm not quite there yet but the fact that the benchmark is set so high encourages all of us to get better.

The fact that this is awarded for the best post/thread loses the reality that many, like nethryk, post across many threads and in so doing spreads the quality across the site.

And there we rest our case m'lud :D :D

Jon

I am going to ditto JonEboy's thread and once again nominate nethryk for his quality scans and info across many threads.

I vote nethryk, because he provides , from what I have seen, the best stamp pictures(scans) and invests time in researching about the topic that is depicted on those stamps, no matter if Engraved Beauties or Beards on Stamps :)
