I will add a link to Stampboards (and probably to Glen's homepage if he doesn't mind :?: ) in due course on my new blog: http://petitmondemoi.blogspot.com/ - Le petit Monde de Moi. That's French for "The little world of me"

By the way, I have a question or two in case someone here can help me. Firstly, on my second post which was really my first post there (that's another story) you can see that the picture of the blue cheese is too ridiculously large.  I want it to be within the "box-for-posts" margins.

Is there a way to do this, or is it not possible to edit a post once you've published it? It would be could to make the font the same style too - I did that, but the computer obviously didn't! :? (I'm on Blogger, BTW, if you didn't notice and need that info.) Also, for future pics, is it best just to stick with photobucket and not go taking a picture from another URL (and if I want that other picture from the other URL, just to save it and upload in photobucket?)

Secondly, how can I adjust the timezone to me in Melbourne and not some other place goodness knows where in this world? :? Thanks folks!

Nick, the Webmaster from Malaya Study Group kindly linked to us this week, and offered me this code below in case it assists others -

http://malayastudygroup.x10hosting.com/msglinks.htm

For those who also need to add a link -

<p> <a href="http://www.stampboards.com/"><font color="#FFFFFF" size="5" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><strong><font color="#0000FF">www.stampboards.com</font></strong></font></a><br>

What a coincidence - I just signed up to facebook yesterday! (Tassy_Stamps will be happy!  ) But when I click on your link the stupid thing just takes me to myself???!? And I can't find stampboards or stampboards or stampboards.com when I search for it (the closest thing is swampboards - what the hell?)

So, as I am new to facebook and there's probably something wrong at my end - would someone kindly direct me in the right place to join Erik's Stampboards "fanclub"

oh.... come to think of it, you remember that thread Tassy_stamps once started about "Who here's got Facebook?" I think on that people had suggested a Stampboards fanpage, and others had protested against it. Don't remember exactly why, but perhaps whatever they said were your reasons?

I believe it is because many members here have up to 6 figure collections, and other members want privacy. :?:

In the past there has been some discussion about whether Stampboards should have some presence on Facebook, and the Moderator Group have looked at this for some time.

Thanks to the most recent suggestion of an outline by Jugoslavia-Post, I have now set up a stampboards.com fan site on Facebook.

It will be there mainly to outline our current competitions and promotions - and special things occuring on stampboards.

Hopefully Erik can assist me with the logos, key words, and overall smooth look that the young members are so good at achieving!

Members who are on Facebook might like to become "friends" and receive updates on the various Stampboards news and activities, as well as passing the link to other philatelic friends on Facebook who may be interested.

Stampboards now has a Facebook page - http://www.tinyurl.com/SBFace

Why not assist our ever-rising numbers - drop in and tick the "Like" box above, and become a Stampboards 'friend'?

Great start Margo, and hopefully Erik can add some extra graphics and updates on a regular basis!

All our members who use facebook please log in, add yourself as a "friend" and add a site vote. It all helps the board get bigger still. :D

Hi Tony H! Html code can be confusing and just plain silly sometimes, but if you go to the very start of this thread (page 1, first post by Glen) and scroll down a bit it will show you the coding to insert an image.... Heck, why don't I just quote it here:

Can I please ask you and others to list us in full as -

And not as we have now, simply -

The former gets far clearer google recognition, which in turn feeds back well for you. 8)

Cliff, I have edited this and your other thread so that the (at) sign is replaced by [at]. This reduces the chance of your address being obtained by spammers.

This board does not have a list of clubs but you are more than welcome to start another thread just for your club on the club forum - http://www.stampboards.com/viewforum.php?f=22. Clubs are free to use this use this board for minutes, notices of meetings and general chit-chat amongst club members.

You already have one thread for your 2011 stamp fair and I will ask a question there just to give it a boost. If you can just add something (anything) to each thread every so often it will ensure members keep your club in mind.

It is on the home page as quoted, the following is copied from that page which contains three embedded links to Stampboards:

"Have your say on Paquebots

There is a forum set up at Stampboards to discuss Paquebots in General or Royal Mail Paquebot Cancel Withdrawal in particular. Click on one or all of these links to have your say. "

We've had a StampBoards banner over at the Norwegian language online forum for stamp collectors for some time now; just forgot to mention it

Many thanks to all those adding links. It builds our google ranking credits, and in turn boosts YOUR site rating at the same time. Classic WIN-WIN. :P

Also can I urge EVERYONE to please take a second and click "LIKE" on our Facebook page - we have 100s of clicks so far, and that boosts google rankings a lot too.

Why not assist our ever-rising numbers - drop in and tick the "Like" box above, and become a Stampboards 'friend'?

Yes, I have a feeling that must be true. I've had visitors from all places on my blog, from Seattle to Iceland, from Russia to South Africa, from Melbourne to Alaska, from Sydney to Europe and even countries I've never even heard of before! :D (Obviously then, having a blog is very educational: it increases your knowledge of geography! )

As we say pretty clearly one hopes -

We have had some of the things above made in the USA as souvenirs. Into T Shirts, and caps and pens etc that some members have asked if they might buy.

We did not make many due to the cost of small runs in full colour, so first in - first served.

UK member gavin-h is shown above with a range of all of them he won in our competition at Christmas.

For anyone interested, stampboards item costs are as follows (all post is extra) and all payment methods are fine - to glen[at]glenstephens.com - Stand out from the crowd at your next stamp show, or club meet!

1. T Shirt: as you can see in Gavin's photo - logo is larger & better looking than mock-up $A25
2. Classy USA baseball Cap - white or light fawn - $A20
3. Nice pens as shown. PRINTED logo, not a sticker. $A5 each.
4. Adhesive window decals - specify inside or outside use: there are 2 types. $A5 ea.
5. Large car door magnets with Stampboards logo on it. (In front of Gavin) $A10
6. Large 2010 Fridge door calendar magnet $A3 each.
7. Full colour MOUSE MAT with printed stampboards logo on the fabric. $A25

All will be shipped along with a free array of different size and design, stampboards double sided, color postcards, small fridge magnets and the like, that you can pass on to others!

Like ANYTHING to do with stamps, these knick-knacks will all be collectible and sought after in the future. Tiny, tiny, number done, and all of course with our Penny Black as part of the logo. :)
