Don't panic .. you were not banned .. it was a short pre-advised tech outage from our USA server.

===========

As I was pre-advised at short notice by our server owner -

Glen

We had hope to take a quick emergency maintenance window about 20 hours
ago, unfortunately we were not able to do so. We will be taking an
emergency outage at 12am CST 12/3/2009 for all but coldfusion based web
services. Coldfusion based outage will begin at 1am. Everything should
be back online by about 1:30am.

My apologies for the short notice.

David

I only got a standard internet message saying that the server could not be found. I decided Glen had forgotten to pay the electricity bill and decided to wait. Then another email alert came in, so I knew he had found the dollar needed.

I'm advertising! If I could put a link on the avatar I would. Just been unpacking next month's Classsic Album covers material. The Souvenir Sheet FDC turns out to be 323mm x 226mm: good for framing, difficult for stamp collectors! More details later on the appropriate thread.

I only found this by accident.

I was denied access to the "Study of New Zealand Penny Dominion" and appealed to 2 Mods - one responed stating no problem at his end. Still did not work for me for some time???

I lost another hour or two later yesterday evening (UTC). Australia was probably asleep, but it may have been another US problem.

Here's another one to add to the Error messages...
-----------------------------------------
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

User glenst00_phpbb3b already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

-------------------------------------------

Did anyone else get this error ?
It was around 9;30am 9/12/09.

"max user connections" does that mean there were 1203 people logged on ??

what was everyone looking at, what did I miss

Cheers,
Skippy

Yes, I got same one.

I don't think it went from 37 to 1203 people online in 10 seconds.

Probably a hack attack.
