I use the 1988 Stamps of the World. Cost me about £20 in 1989.

For Commonwealth I used a 1982 Part 1.

I don't need anything newer as I don't collect modern stamps.

I am using 2007 SG Stamps of the World, I would like to upgrade to 2011 if I can find a set cheap enough, but unlikely this year, I will probably wait a year or two!
I have up to date Seven Seas (2 vols) and SG Commonwealth 2010
which cover my main areas of interest.
Happy collecting

I´m using SG Stamps of the World Vol. 1 from 1993 and Vol. 2 1986. I´ve used many years a 1988 SG Commonwealth cat. but know I ´ve got a 2009 Edition.

I use a SG 1976 edition. I'd love one of those colour ones!

I get them out of the Library one month at a time. There are several libraries and they only keep the latest version as the reference version and some even let you take the 2012 edition home. So currently using 2012 SG and 2012 Scott.

2011 edition, which I acquired from Amazon in August last year at the time of the 2012 edition coming out for 40 pounds and 15 postage, definitely twist but keep looking as it seems Gibbons had a major price revision in 2011 - as we've all seen in recent auction prices.
Bring back the Bridger and Kaye Five reigns edition

Bought it in 2002 for 75 euro's. I wanted to use it as checklist for when I went to fairs. I marked all the stamps I have from A to Macau. Took me a year and then I quited. Too much work for the little time I had. And never took it to fairs, just too heavy.
I don't liked the catalogue anymore after that year. Most countries were listed till 1998, but some African countries only till 1993 or 1994. And the prices of modern issues from many countries were just too low.
Also in the Netherlands allmost nobody uses SG. Only Commonwealth collectors, but they are a minority over here.
On fairs everything is numbered and priced with Michel and sometimes with Yvert.
Dutch stamps with the Dutch catalogue ofcourse. That's full of errors btw. And made by a 'politburo' of just a few dealers. They don't listen to collectors. Only thinking about profit.
Once I myself discovered a dentelation variety of a modern Dutch stamp. I e-mailed the 'politburo'. Never got a reply back...
(Sorry for going a little bit off topic at the end.)

1998 ex library - and that's all I need as I have specialists catalogues for my main interests.
