Article in today's Dominion Post says it all really. :(

We've started the process of boxing up the library - I estimate some 200 Archive boxes just for that, let alone the Office, Sales items, Archive and publications stock.

We're currently reviewing a variety of options for new Office space, and hopefully Library space as well.

Update here as they occur.

Adam.

Hopefully they can fix up the old building without too much delay.

It nice to have the old architecture in amongst all the highrises.

And just when I was getting to like hanging out in the RPSNZ office :(

Ah well hopefully a good new place can be found soon.

Have you thought of asking National Library/NZ Archives/Te Papa about storing the library/archive material? They might be able to accommodate in some way?

Cheers

Robert

Adam .. bummer .. sorry to hear of the work this will entail for you and the other volunteers there.

Hope a suitable new place appears on the horizon!

As a RPSNZ member I was already aware of this problem, since I received an email some days ago. I am sure a solution will be found very soon.

Packing of Library progressing well.

This is what 200 boxes of Journals and auction catalogues looks like!

This weekend I hope to get the actual books done. :)

We have yet to confirm new Office space although we have some options. I believe we do have suitable secure storage for the Library in the interim though.

What a huge job for all you volunteers ... and I bet office space downtown Wellington is hard to source?

Time for an update.

We've signed a 3-year lease on a similar sized space in Jackson St, Petone. Rents are almost double what we've been paying :( as DOC supports community minded organisations in their historic buildings with cheap rental.

Nonetheless, the fitout by the landlord is underway and we should be able to move in November.

More details and some pix then.

Adam.

Hi Adam

Any update and/or pics from your new location?
I am sure many here will be keen to see where you are now.

There's a couple of pix on the RPSNZ home page.
None of the new interior yet, however.
