Hi Doug, just letting you know that I received those wonderfully HUGE sheets yesterday.

 I was one of the ones who took three goes at getting anything right!
Oh well, got it right in the end. Most impressed with the cover. Thank you so much.

Just as an offside, any news on the covers I sent you? Surely should have arrived by now!

It's Don, not Doug. Here are three pounds. ### That's the customary pounding for mixing up my name.

And nope, I didn't get them yet, but I'm not worried. Mail from Oz is sometimes fast and sometimes slow.

Glad to hear either on the boards or in e-mails that covers are arriving in one piece. (Well, two pieces, one inside one out.)

sorry Don   I knew that! I was just thinking of too many other things I had to do. Wasn't concentrating.

You can give me more pounds ## if it makes things OK! Just goes to show why I made so many mistakes sending you the last payment

Sorry!

I was the member who started all this off, so really should post my thanks to Don for his immense kindness in doing this for us. It is a magnificent sheet, and thanks to the generosity of Canada Post, I got the souvenir packs for half price. Once again, thank you Don.

I received your e-mail of apology for forgetting to pay, alanchong, but it's alright, because I never sent anyone the cover until it was paid for, so technically you don't owe me anything. If you still want the cover and mint sheet inside, I still have enough for two sets in my stash.

Don, mine arrived today, after about six weeks! Very strange, my address was scratched out (over the plastic cover you put) with a sticker, 'Address not known' and 'Return to sender'. But it still arrived, at the same address, which was correct. So now I have a bit of postal history also! Beautiful cover, thank you very much.

Hi zaguy, any chance of a scan? I for one, would love to see those additions to your cover.

What a bonus!

Arrrgh! I just placed and order to Canada Post for al the Silver Jubilee stuff. And someone (not from Canada Post) later told me that it will be sent via regular mail instead of International Registered/Sign For mail.

Now I can only hope that it will not get lost between Canada and Malaysia.

Note to self - "Next time, check Stamp Boards first!".

Finally got around to scanning the cover - here it is. Really odd, with the label and RTS instruction it still arrived, at the exact address on the cover ...

So that ugly pen scratch and R.T.S is on the plastic liner I put the cover in? Hopefully?

Don, yes, it is on the plastic cover. For now I will just keep it inside the plastic cover, I know the cover inside will be pristine!

The mint copy inside should be OK from any moisture in that Canada Post envelope, I think. Does anybody know if the glassine envelopes they use at Canada Post are good for long term storage?

Hi zaguy, that looks very impressive! I can't believe you still got it!

I would be considering keeping it as whole as well, but I suppose if you kept both parts (plastic cover and envelope) in the same section of your album with a note about the provenance, at least, there's no confusion about it...and you get to see the mint copy too!

If anyone wants a set, please don't hesitate to post here. I can check at many local post offices for more. Wheatley, Tilbury, Leamington, Cottam, Belle River, Essex, all PO's within a reasonable distance.

Hutch - I do intend to keep it just as it is, I know there is a mint sheet inside as well, I could probably cut the plastic carefully along one side and just remove the sheet later. But for me it is quite interesting with the RTS marking and the label, a bit of modern postal history! And that it still arrived, really weird ...

Hey zaguy, if you'd like another mint to take out and put in a stockbook where you can actually see it, just let me know. I don't need to use a Jubilee on the cover if you don't want. It could be a Titanic minisheet or whatever has been recently available.

I'm with you zaguy, sometimes, you just have to sacrifice one for the other! And in your case, knowing that the mini-sheet is in there, but not being able to see it?

That would drive me crazy!

Sorry, but I would have to open it!

And it is a beautiful piece!....please don't think I am trying to convince you to open it. You have a very unique piece of postal history!

Just realised that uncadonego has offered you a new mint sheet which means you don't have to open that after all! :D How 'cool' is that! History in the making :D

Enjoy both zaguy!

Don, that is very kind of you, if it is not too much hassle I would really appreciate another mint sheet. If it is possible maybe can you use the Baby Wildlife (Polar Bear) $1,75 (International Rate) stamp on the cover? How much do I owe you? I'll send by Paypal again.

I see in some of your other posts you like very modern covers, we have some great recent new issues here in SA if you want something on a cover. The Transit of Venus sheet seems to be very popular, I can also send you that in exchange?

Image

Hutch, now I will have two great covers and two mint sheets, how cool is that!

Sorry, I couldn't find any baby polar bear around. International is a $1.80 now, the polar bear is pretty much gone. Any other selection?

Don, if you have any Titanic mini sheets available then that would be perfect, or else any other animal stamp if possible. Thank you again. I will send you some funds in Paypal and I will send my new postbox number, delivery is more secure at the postbox.

Yep, I got it and mailed everybody's Jubilee stuff just today. Zaguy, yours has a Jubilee on the inside and a Titanic minisheet on the outside.

Everyone else's has a Jubilee on the outside.

They had eight Jubilee minisheets left at the post office, so I bought them all.

I can make four more sets for now, I haven't checked other local PO's. So Cal516, yes I can make you a set if you want one.....

By the way, if anyone is interested, my local PO has about 20 sets left at half price of the whole Jubilee folders vol. 1 through 6. Number five contains a Jubilee minisheet. I've sent one complete set out and the cost of postage was about $15.00CAD, and the sets are about $21.44CAD.

Postage would obviously be less to the U.S.

You're welcome! :D

Hey does anyone want a set of the six booklets inside the Jubilee folders? Just the booklets. They aren't booklets of stamps. They're booklets for reading. E-mail me if you do.

I have three purple Jubilee sets still left, if anyone still wants a cover/mint sheet combo.

Also, although it may be expensive postage wise, I'll send you all the 6 souvenir sheets and the special folder for the total post office cost, and no markup, plus shipping costs, if that's what you want. I did that for another member here.......

Hi Don,

Are these still available? If yes, I would like a complete set. Please advise PayPal address and total cost including shipping to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Thanks and warm regards,
Roland

I'll have to check rolcora. My local PO is out of volume 5, but other nearby post offices may have them.

Mine arrived today in flawless condition. Thanks so much for your efforts.

Why do you suppose it takes so darned long for mail between out two distant countries; it's about 1h 45m by air from the D.C. area to the closest major Canadian city ... how hard can this be?

I called the Leamington CP and they have sets left. Oddly the folder scanned in at 5.95, not half price. Anyway there you have it.
Shipping would be pretty up there, maybe 18 or 19 dollars.

Maybe hand sorting is slower.

Thanks again, Don. I do not mind the postage. Please advise total cost and I will remit the amount through PayPal.

I would also need your PayPal email for the payment.

Regards,
Roland
