Ok. I am cataloging my collection. Came on Dubai. Everything is going great, then I ran into a problem. (I am using Scott Catalogue by the way). I realize at some point (1971-72) Dubai gathered with some of the other trucial states/gulf states under the banner UAE, but the stamps I have are still Dubai, but not found in my Scott Catalogues. These are as follows:
5 Nov 1966 International co-operation Year 10 stamps.
13 May 1968 Flowers
9 Dec 1968 Arabian Gulf Birds
5 Feb 1968 Butterflies
Scott seems to just skip over some of these years (1968) in Dubai stamps, so if anyone can help me here, give a shout. Thanks a million.

I am also running into a similar problem with my Dubai and Trucial state stamps from 1971-1972. I have been told that Michel Middle East (English edition) is a very good catalog for the Trucial state stamps. (Now if I can just locate one at a good price)

Ha! I hear you! They are all so darn expensive, eh? I still dont understand why these particular ones are not in the Scott as the rest of my Dubai stamps are there. Just these ones are'nt... Thanks for the info though, will check it out.

You could try this Dubai site. I didn't include numbers or prices, but the list is free.

Note also that the Dubai lists include postal stationery as well as stamps.

If you click on the UAE Index Page it will take you to an index page for the stamps and postal stationery of the other emirates and of the United Arab Emirates.

Thanks for all the info people. Greatly appreciated. I decided that I should break down and go for purchasing a Gibbons Middle east edition. Cost me 50.00, but prob worth it. (I'm hoping!) As I am having other problems with middle east stamps as well. As I am only up to the "D's" in my cataloging, there will probably be many more adventures, lol. Let me know if any more thoughts come up as to finding problems in cataloging of stamps that are not found in the standard catalogues. Al
