AUSTRALIAN KGV 2d FAULTS AND FLAWS FROM ELECTRO 8A & 9

This thread is a WIKI for the Australian KGV 2d faults and flaws.

Listed by electros and by die

The aim of this thread is to have an online catalogue for the faults and flaws of the 2d red, orange and red brown KGV stamps of Australia.

To do this we require your input,

If you have an example of a fault that you can post, with an electro number a pane number and the position on that pane.

Then just post it at the bottom of this thread. With the watermark and it's perforation.
And we will do the rest.

If you are unsure that you have the correct number for your stamp ask the KGV gurus on the board
Post your scan there first and ask them the question they can be found here.

YOUR SCANS

Please if possible scan your stamps at 1200 dpi and then place them in your photobucket account at the 15-inch screen setting.

If this cannot be done place your scan anyway it will hold it place on the thread until another1200dpi scan comes along.

The 1200 dpi setting gives a good size picture, as you will see below.

Trim the scan, a little bit of black background is ok but we don't want a half-inch boarder around it, again look at the scans below.

A bit of pride in the scan of your stamp will keep it here for as long as the board stays running. The better scan will always be on display.

The last couple of post on the thread will be random posts from members these posts will stay until we have between ten and twenty and then we will copy the scans and then we will remove all post and arrange them in order with the members name as the contributor like in the post below

Below is a template of what each post will look like.

If we keep all post the same then the WIKI will look good from top to bottom.

Kangaroo: Oval flaw 0.5 mm in diameter just below the nostril, 4 mm from the left frame, 11.5 mm from the upper frame.

(NB Similar flaws on BaXV 58a, 12AL47b)

King's Head: Break in exact centre of 8th shading line on neck (counting from front), 10 mm from the lower frame. (NB Similar flaws on 2R5a, 11R3Ob, 12AR6d)

(NB This flaw differs from that on A1O only by being 0.25 mm closer to bottom frame).

Emu: Blurred, oval flaw 1.25 mm high occupies the top of emu's tail and the small adjacent areas of the shading lines and the right frame. Not always
present. (NB Similar flaw on 1 R22b)
