Looking at the VII/31s in this forum, I believe this is state 3 or 4, based on the limited extent of the "wattle line". The upper left frame outer notch is there also.
Is the poor inking of the emu's chest a "tin shed" flaw?
I don't have any of the more detailed plating references. Should this go through the KGV t=2236 forum first?

Pat I think your copy may be a state 2 based on the checklist, as state 3 has a small white tick in the border under the left 1, and the 4th state doesnt have either the notch on left frame or wattle scratch. Though I'd probably put it on the KGV head query page like you suggest as I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, just an over enthusiastic amateur.

A state 2 example in the wiki has a more extensive wattle line, so I assumed mine was a partially corrected later state. Perhaps over-inking hides the weaker part of the scratch. And the notch looked a bit different. I'll move it to t=2236.
I appreciate your enthusiasm.

DESCRIPTION

No listed flaws

Looking to plate some compartment line copies, I noted the prominent scratch in the crown connecting the top pearl on the right to the dash above the fleur de lis (or whatever its called). This is apparently not noted in checklists??
