A win by Hawthorn tomorrow (highly likely), will vault them into the top-four, given they have the highest percentage (in case of a tie), plus West Coast and Sydney square off against each other ... which will knock one of them (plus Essendon if the Crows win as expected over GWS Giants), out of the top-four.

I hate to say it but the great era of Geelong has come to an end.

The great players are a yard slower and the youngsters still have a way to go.

Still, 3 out of the last 5 flags has been a hell of a ride.

While they aren't likely to win the flag this year (not a prediction), nevertheless, a 9-6 record (presently), is hardly the end of the world.

I will admit, however, they have a daunting finish to their schedule:

They also had a rough start to their schedule this year, playing 8 of their first 12 games 'on the road'.

Hey Doug ... don't feel bad. As I stated from the beginning, Round 16 was going to be a monster round, with difficult picks to be made.

It'll be another monster round next week (17) ... perhaps worse than this one.

How can you follow Collingwood's form?? They were pathetic against Carlton!

What an exciting game to watch ... a heartstopper, won after the siren by a guy who has hardly kicked a goal in his life!

I tipped Gold Coast, as a bonus, thinking it was about time for them to get a win, but imagine not many here did.

As indeed Hawthorn was in Round 9:

Richmond: 21, 11 = 137

Hawthorn: 10, 15 = 75

But I still consider them (Hawthorn) a team to be reckoned with .... sometimes you just go for a sh-t.

Yes, but that was weeks ago now. We smashed Carlton 2 weeks ago and then they smashed you. Not forgetting the defeat of Collingwood at the hands of Hawthorn early in the season.

I think last night shows just how low Geelong has fallen in the last couple of weeks. Still it is dangerous to write off a wounded tabby too early.

I would agree with you concerning Geelong ... while they don't appear to have it on a consistent basis ... nevertheless, until they are officially out you have to show them respect.
