Good luck in your search...You would be hard pressed to find QV envelopes that are post-independence though  Stay away from them if one of our usual suspects tries to sell them on ebay...

What I meant was that there cannot be India QV envelopes other than pre-independence since QV died in 1901 and independence was in 1947. Sorry for taking the mickey, but I couldn't resist.

Well, come to think of it, that doesnt matter. QV envelopes can still be used for the value its prepaid for, I dont know whether it was valid after independence for a short time. Or am I thinking too serious.... anyways ..........you should definitely be entitled to your laugh.

Thanks for being a good sport. :D

I didn't think of super late usage, so you may have a point there. I don't know enough about Indian philately and usage to be able to assess whether that's possible.

That Jammu & Kashmir combination cover you show in your first post won't be cheap. I might consider selling for $US4000

Mr. joelk there is nothin funny in my post. I have few covers of Victoria which is used in 1948 though it might be minted in 1890's. So i mentioned about pre independence.

Surely a philatelic creation? A Faridkot cover used with British stamps from India?

Used from Britain to USA in 1952. I think the British Post office was tricked into accepting it as a UK cover. Whatever it is, it is an interesting piece.
