I have some strange pics, I will dig them out and post them up on here, taken of all places at the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra, and tell me what you think...

I'm not saying I believe, but at this point in time, I think I will keep an open mind...

Hi Frank,

I have 'seen' and 'felt' some things over the years - but I am still not sure what to make of all of it. There was no rational explanation for what I 'saw' though, because the person who I had seen had been dead for 18 months...and he appeared in our house, where he had died. Still trying to come up with a rational explanation for that one, and that is why I keep an open mind.

MrBOGGLER HI,never had a chain rattle,but when I went to where NED Kelly was hung I did have an experance.
I kid you not they are there to see if your eyes are open as your mind.

About a year ago my friend Dave and his son Greg came to the house one afternoon. My mom and I went to the door to meet them. Mom was just going to ask who the other young guy was with them, when suddenly he vanished.
Mom just looked stunned. She described the guy that was walking between them, and Dave said that was his nephew Kenny. Kenny had died about 15 years ago.
I only met Dave and Greg about 3 years ago, and until then, had never heard about Kenny.
Dave brought a picture of Kenny the next time he came to visit, and sure enough, it was the same guy my mom had seen walking up to the house with them.

That is something I can believe in.

Did you mention to Dave that your mother saw some one.
I think if you did they would tell you the nephew spent a lot of time with them,and still craves their company.

Ask ,did you spend a lot of time with your nephew,his answer will tell you your answer back.

I believe they had to be close,so be tactful.

I certainly believe that ghosts believe, having described a situation where a ghost impersonated me in broad morning light. Wrote this in an earlier post.

Have had other experiences which I can only attribute to the supernatural as they seem to defy logic. Have also talked with others who have described "ghostly" encounters of one sort or another.

Not all people see the same thing,their minds dictate just what they have seen or heard.

My wife searched the whole house one time looking for a baby crying,then realized just what she had heard.
We rented a very very old farm house in NSW. And I can tell you truthfully we lived with ghosts. Other than a cold feeling at times no worries.Weired feeling to hear some one talking or baby crying and no one there.

Keep an open mind ,do not let anyone sway your belief,I promise, you will win in the end.

A similar thing happened when I had my first posting at the branch campus in Terengganu, in the town of Dungun. The location was actually the old iron mine quarters.

My neighbour, who stayed in the other side of the same bungalow, with his wife and couple of kids (they were incidentally from Australia), once asked us (we three bachelor boys at that time who stayed on the other side of the bungalow), whether there were children playing on our side.

We said no and asked why. The wife said they often heard the pitter patter of little feet seemingly from our side and at the stroke of midnight, they always heard the sound of someone lifting the toilet cistern lid (the porcelain lid) and throwing it on the ground.

To be honest, on our side, we never heard any such sounds, nor did we have little kids in our hall, or had the inkling to lift toilet bowl cistern lids to go throwing on hard cement toilet floors. You can imagine we had the shivers when we realised what it was all about.

We didn't mention it that day, but we did tell Dave a few days later. He was very interested, and excited to know that his nephew was around.
Everyone has been waiting to see if he will make contact again with anyone, but he hasn't so far.
The only thing that Dave came up with, is that Kenny was there to watch over them. Greg was driving, and he started going too fast. Kenny was with them to protect them in some way.

My grand father is there in the old part.Would open your eyes a lot to read some of the head stones or plarques.Harsh land in those times.

I have been to Boulder but not to the cemetary. It sure would have been a harsh place in your Grandfather's time.

I too have found cemetaries to be a peaceful place. Some of the inscriptions help to put everything into perspective and make our own lives seem pretty tame and easy.

I think cemetaries are good places to get a sense of your own mortality. I don't think of death as something to be worried about or scared of, although I do see it as a final end.

I was nothing before I was born, and I will be nothing after I am dead.

I'm up to sixpence worth now Frank!

Iwould like to share a poem that I just received with you.

DADDY;S POEM

Her hair was up in a pony tail,

her favourite dress tied with a bow.

Today was Daddy's Day at school,

and she couldn't wait to go.

But her mummy tried to tell her,

that she probably should stay home.

Why the kids might not understand,

if she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid,

she knew just what to say.

What to tell her classmates,

of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,

for her to face this day alone.

And that was why once again,

she tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school,

eager to tell them all.

About a dad she never sees,

a dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back,

for everyone to meet.

Children squirming impatiently,

anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called,

a student from the class..

To introduce their daddy,

as seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,

every child turned to stare.

Each of them was searching,

for a man that wasn't there.

Where's her daddy at?

she heard a boy call out.

She probably doesn't have one,

another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,

she heard a daddy say.

Looks like another deadbeat dad,

too busy to waste his day.

The words did not offend her,

as she smiled up at her mom.

And looked back at her teacher,

who told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,

slowly she began to speak.

And from the mouth of a child,

came words incredibly unique.

My daddy couldn't be here,

because he lives so far away.

But I know he wishes he could be,

since this is such a special day.

And though you can not meet him,

I wanted you to know.

All about my daddy,

and how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories,

he tought me to ride my bike.

He surprised me with pink roses,

and tought me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,

and ice cream in a cone.

And though you cannot see him,

I'm not standing here alone.

Cause my daddy's always with me,

even though we are apart.

I know because he told me,

he'll forever be in my heart.

With that her little hands reached up,

and lay across her chest.

Feeling her own heartbeat,

beneath her favourite dress.

And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,

her mother stood in tears.

Proudly watching her daughter,

who was wise beyond her years.

For she stood up for the love,

of a man not in her life.

Doing what was best for her,

doing what was right.

And when she dropped her hand back down,

staring streight into the crowd.

She finished with a voice so soft,

but its message clear and loud.

I love my daddy very much,

he's my shining star.

And if he could,he'd be here,

but heaven's just to far.

You see he was a policeman,

and died this past year.

When airplanes hit the towers,

and tought Americans to fear.

But sometimes when i close my eyes,

it's like he never went away.

And then she closed her eyes,

and saw him there that day.

And to her mothers amazement,

she witnessed with surprise.

A room full of daddies and children,

all starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,

who knows what they felt inside.

Perhaps for merely a second,

they saw him at her side.

I know you are with me daddy,

to the silence she called out.

And what happened next made believers,

of those filled with doubt.

No one in the room could explain it,

for each of their eyes had been closed.

But there on the desk beside her,

was a fragent long- stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed,if only for a moment,

by the love of her shining star.

And given the gift of believing,

that heaven is never to far.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,

an hour to appreciate them,a day to love them,

but then an entire life to forget them.

Take the time,to live and love.

PS. iF THIS POEM DOESN'T MOVE YOU,THEN IT'S TIME YOU TOOK A HARD LOOK AT YOURSELF AND THE WORLD.

p.s. Do I believe that ghosts exist? Definitely. Have heard from many reliable people and have had a couple of what I think are "ghostly" experiences, and find it hard not to believe that ghosts/spirits do exist.

Last year my wife and I visited the Winchester House in San Jose, California, and what an amazing place it was too even with its own resident ghost (Sarah Winchester).

We were in one of the many rooms looking at things there and listening to the guide when we both felt something move. My neck was brushed and my wife felt something touch her arm. Apparently the petite lady seemed to greet most of her current vistors in a similar way.

We did not have our eyes closed for someone to play a prank on us, nor did we see Sarah Winchester but we certainly felt her presence.

The visit to the house was most interesting (about 2 hours from San Francisco) in its own right but the free ghostly feeling was something that neither of us expected!

Was the feeling like a cold wave passing through you, and with the hairs on the back of your neck standing up?

Thank you for telling us your encounter with the unknown.Makes you think doesn't it.

There must be a lot of people that have had encounters with the unknown,now they may speak up after reading yours.

If I recall correctly, I felt a ripple effect through my body and I distictly remember my neck being brushed as though from someone behind but below me.

It is my belief the spirit of someone entered your body for a short while.

Try to remember how you felt at the time? did you feel relieved or free of pain for a while or an emotion that left you feeling strange?????

I am sure nothing bad happend to you or your wife,the experence you had is an awakening don't fight the feeling ,look for the true meaning of your encounter with the otherside.

please let me know your next one,i'm sure there will be more.

I dont belive in ghosts,UFOs or god but I wont dismiss the possibility altogether. I have certainly seen and felt some strange things,one incident high up in the sky one night comes to mind.

Nice poem thanks Frank - and I had to wipe a bit of grit from my eye too.

We had the "Sensing Murder" TV programme on here; its season just finished. I'm really not sure what to make of it.
The cycnics say no murder has ever been solved by these people, but my feeling is any publicity on a Cold Case is good publicity.
