For some reason I'm not able to upload any photos onto my photobucket account. It is certainly not full yet, because even if I delete a photo to create space it still says I can't upload. Also, although I only have the regular limited free account (not the Pro), despite over 200 pics, it says that I've only used up 9% of my storage space used (a mere 48mb) and 6% of my bandwidth (about 600mb!)

When I click on the big green "upload" button, I can chose a picture to upload, and then click OK. It loads, but instead of a green bar moving across it is red. And when it gets to the end, it says Image Upload Failed: Upload failed for [whatever the picture is] with error: File not uploaded.

Has anyone any idea what is going on? I've never had this problem before. Surely it can't be full yet?

No, it is not full. You have a few thousand to go.

Try to load an image which you have loaded before. If that works OK then try another .jpg image from a different site. If that is also OK then the problem is with the nature of the label on the image you are now trying to load.

Let us know how you go.

I've had this problem from time to time, so have just rebooted and logged in again. All OK.
Sometimes the upload fails.

Otherwise you've been tagged as a N sympathiser for uploading a certain picture of a certain dictator from WWII?
If so they should have told you.

I had a photobucket problem a couple of years ago, and I found that their help desk was second to none in responding to reported problems. Even given the timezone difference, and the fact that I had a free account, they were extremely quick and responsive, so I suggest that you e-mail photobucket, describe your problem, and help with recommendations as to what to do will be responded to, and in a timely manner.

Just describe exactly what the issue is.

*My problem was that Photobucket would not even allow me to log on, even with the correct password, and even though all my images were still there and I could open "fromdownunder's" account and see all of my pictures. It actually took three fixes over three days, two of which obviously did not work. But they responded to my every follow up request, and came up with a solution that worked.

Funny, it all seems to work again now. Perhaps it was because I changed my email address from my old defunct school one to my blog email.

And yet, that old email's been defunct now for months.

Anyway, whatever it was, Catweazle's gonna be posting his pictures again - so strap on your seatbelts and hold on to your hats!

Dearest Catweazle, It's pleasing to see others have PC issues also. The spell check has a fit on "Catweazle"

I have had issues running Photobucket on Firefox. It will not upload at all :!:

Changing back to IE6 and there isn't a problem.

Other than that issue, I don't use IE6 at all now.

I just posted Catweazle's exact problem into the *testing* thread for up-loading onto Stampboards.

http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=284&p=1409859#p1409859

Then I remembered this thread

Nothing has changed on my account - except I can't load images

Here is the advice they gave me;

"Please log out, clear your cache, refresh, close your browser window, then flush your DNS and reboot your entire system, including the modem and router.

http://pic.pbsrc.com/help/Content/Troub ... rCache.htm

http://pic.pbsrc.com/help/Content/Troub ... ushDNS.htm

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Your Photobucket Support Team"

Having done all they suggested, I'm right back where I started (but my computer is nice and clean   )

This has been going on for three days, and while my initial question got a prompt response, there has been no follow-up.
(Maybe photobucket has something against post offices :? )

I realize that this probably won't affect many people, but it IS a problem. I was just wondering if, apart from contacting photobucket (which I have done), there is anything else I can do?

I can't even show an image of what the problem looks like :?

I can't solve your problem but can help you to show what it looks like.

If you do a Print Screen and crop it to your satisfaction on Picasa you can send it to me at jabirustamp[at]emailme.com.au and I will post it for you.

mcgooley - so, when you try and upload an image on photobucket, that green bar moves across and then you get a red cross instead of the usual tick and it says it doesn't work?

What weird is that I had this problem for a while, but now it's working again. Also, I started up a new account when I first had the problem and that other account also has the problem :?

Yup - stupid thing! I had that twice, very annoying.

First time I changed my email from my old school one to my present email address (the old school one became defunct earlier this year), and then it suddenly worked again. So maybe go through and make sure all your details are up to date and correct.

As for the second time, I still have no idea what I did or even if I did do something which fixed. Miraculously, it now works!

Come to think of it, could they have banned me for a while from uploading that newspaper clipping of Hitler on another thread??

Update from very unhappy mcgooley

The Photobucket Support Team are being terrific, their response times over the past 24 hours have been fast, given the time differences, and we are trying different things.

One tip, although it hasn't made any difference to me :( , is to ensure the new 10.1 version of Flash is uploaded for the correct browser, as there are a few types.

Still working on the problem, but, hey!, I can still research and write :D

One VERY happy pussy-cat is now back on line 8)

The last note from Photobucket is copied below;

Wonderful, thanks for letting us know!

With your Firefox browser:

Be aware of any security settings you may have changed on your computer recently or any added browser extensions that may be causing difficulties for you. Firewalls and anti-virus software need to allow photobucket.com and browser security settings should be at medium. You may want to add photobucket.com to your list of 'safe sites' in your browser's security settings. You may also want to run anti-spyware like the free download AdAware, or check that any pop-up blocking software you have is not interfering with your access to the Photobucket site.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Your Photobucket Support Team

I have included their note here, where it may be of some assistance to someone in the future.

I cannot agree too strongly with the above comments, after over a dozen emails during today alone. :D

I have got a problem! I am able to upload me scans from my computer to my photobucket, but I´m not able to copy the IMG code. What can I do? I have written a small message to photobucket.

Do you left click on the IMG CODE and the code goes blue. You then right click on the highlighted code (the blue) and select COPY?

My photobucket has been seriously redesigned with a new layout, structure, and interface. Could this change be the root of the tech issues some members have been experiencing? This occurred today at some point.

Here is a couple screenshots:

"My HOME"

Image

"MY Albums"

Image

Inside the one of the new "Sub-Album's"

Image

I personally don't like a couple of the fonts they have chose, pretty weak really. I like the codes on the right side though, much more efficient as a right-hander! :D I guess we will see if they are done messing with it or whether more changes are to come. Was this change mentioned by any of the tech-support units in any of the correspondences?

Have a Good One,

Skilo

If you haven't been to PhotoBucket in a few
weeks, a visit to their website claims various
new features, formats, blah, blah, blah. One
idiotic problem has managed to persist for two
years now.

Previously, my images used 23 pages; they
now (with their improvements) use 55 pages.
OK, I don't care about that. What I DO care
about is the time WASTED navigating through
strings of page numbers, 3 or 4 at a time, to
get to a certain page; for instance, it takes
forever to get to my Page 34.

How do the rest of you deal with this problem?

Why don't they just display ALL the pages
in a neat table, in my case, 1 to 55, so that
I can click on any of them and GO there??
There's plenty of room on the page to do
this. Your comments, please?

Is there a short cut I'm missing??

Sonce the Photobucket upgrade, some of my images have disappeared from Stampboards, although I have not touched them on Photobucket. And a few scans I have made and attempted to load here have given the "must not be more than 800 pixels wide" error message.

Now I know that I had Photobucket set on 800 x 600 but since the upgrade, I suspect that they were automatically moved back to the default 1024 pixel width.

But I cannot find anywhere on Photobucket where I can change back to a maximum 800 x 600 in the new Photobucket layout.

Can somobody please tell me where this feature is now, and how I make the change on photobucket?

Norm

The photobucket gremlins are at it again.

I just attempted to start loading pix, and this time it is a 'network problem'.

No, not a network problem. I can upload to my other image sites - can't use them here :( - so another photobucket problem.

Have a similar problem on a regular basis, but only for the last few months. If I upload a number of images at once, the upload hangs on the last image. Then I have to cancel the upload and reload the last image separately.

I also have an intermittent interaction problem between photobucket and ant.com toolbar (used to download videos). The ant.com toolbar "detects" a non-existent crash with photobucket and shuts internet explorer down ... even when the toolbar is deactivated. I have contacted ant.com but no solution yet.

Just a quick warning to anyone who uploads the latest (v4) Firefox. It has no add-ons for photobucket, so there will be uploading issues if you use the latest version.

Getting this darn note now on all my photobucket log in pages.

Photobucket Site Maintenance

Well I'm happy to report that when I logged into photobucket today, they told me that I now had unlimited storage for my images.

Is that the reason behind all the maintenance issues? More storage came online?

The problem I and most of the rest of the world are having is when we try to upload pics we get this strange screen layout where all the menus are on the left hand side of the screen overlayed on top of other screens.

So I took a screen copy and split the overlays apart to find out the reasons for this.

And here is the answer that I found.

The version of Adobe Flash you are using is outdated.
Upgrade to the latest flash player to avoid problems with your upload.

Our Uploader Requires Adobe Flash 10.
Install Flash to select multiple files at a time, or use the simple uploader below.

Second screen overlaid on third as below:

Now I already have Version 10.3 of Flash but it makes no difference. I have spoken to a few friends who are also having the same problem and have also loaded Flash 10.3, so it appears the problem may lie with Flash, rather than Photobucket.

I have looked on Photobucket's feedback forum and it appears that they are aware of it and are trying to revert to the old uploader for the time being.

I look forward to seeing an infinity of universes, all populated solely by Allanswood's images

Has there been yet another Photobucket upgrade? I went there to post a scan, and the site seems to be a complete mess at present, with tabs opening without even clicking on them, and the "add new picture" moved yet again. I eventually found it and was able to load what I wanted, but it seems to be a mess at present.

I used photobucket today and it was perfect again. New layouts and the usual easy to understand tools.
