One that my father had when he collected. He had sold most of his collection in 1949 when he got a new job and needed a car, but had this one little hard cover world album left.

If you knew then what you know now, what would you have done differently?

Now I'm hungry as well.

Who's Bill Shankly?

William I's invasion of Britain.

Bill Shankly is God. Manager of Liverpool Football Club from 1959-1974, now sadly deceased (1981). He's famous for the quote "Football's not a matter of life and death, it's far more important than that", although that is a paraphrase of the actual wording. A gruff, loveable Scot who became a legend in his lifetime.

If you're interested in the great man, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Shankly

My last tent experience would have been sometime in the 1950's. Although for the opening of the Trout season in Victoria, we used to sleep in the car (that was the bit of the '60s I do actually remember).

Who is your favourite sportsperson?

That brought the thread to a grinding halt!

I've spent an hour researching this one and I still have no idea! I've found the 58/59 season results on line, but no dates or team sheets.

I give up. :x

OK, for the baseball fans out there (I know there must be one or two), who was the last major league pitcher to win more than 30 games in a season, what year (hint:1968), and what team did he pitch for (hint: Detroit Tigers)?

Did you ever spend too much on stamps at one time? Not the "Ooh I went a bit over budget", but the "I gotta cut back somewhere else" kind of too much.

Depends - on whether it was before, or after the divorce.

What sport do you really honestly hate (Note: synchronised swimming is NOT a sport)?

Personally, I've never sent one in directly. I have bought stamps on the condition that the dealer send it in for a cert, the cost of which I would cover if it came back good. (Usually when I have a suspicion. Haven't had to pay too often.) When I have items to be certified, I have a few dealer friends, and I let them send them on my behalf and just piggy-back on their submission. Saves money.

Are you a neat freak?

all mine have always been very well behaved, :)

just keep my eye on some of those Unperforated ones, sometimes they get a bit up themselves.

OK, another baseball question. Who was the last major league player to win the triple crown? That's leading the league in HRs, RBIs, and batting avg. Hint: it was the year before Denny McLain won 31 games.

Ohhh, what baseball team did Secretariat play for? Ok, not really a question.

I like neat, but I wouldn't say I'm a freak about it.
