Aren't we all?

Over the last 30 years or so, many thousands of these stamps have gone through my hands (still have lots of them both mint and used). How many of the better types have I found? Less than a handful (all gone now) is my guess. The special types are pretty scarce :( .

Well, in Sarajevo there is handful of stamp collectors of which many collect Germany and area but fortunately most of them are not interested in this kind of varieties so i sometimes stumble upon few of this in bulk lots of inflation stamps :-) and although they are nice priced in Michel special even those people who know about this error are willing to sell it way under some real market price. This is good thing about living in country with small collectors community :-)

Seems like the world is full of dreamers. Here is another well priced gem from the inflation period. This can be yours with a buy it now price of $900.00. Bidding starts at $700.00.

This stamp is Michel 278. There are 2 watermarks of this stamp, one is a 10 cent stamp while the other is a $20.00 stamp.

Kind of hard to tell when they are on cover but from what I think I can make out, they are the cheaper variety, unfortunately.

And from the same idiot kegbrosss , we have the ultimate German dreamer, with yet an entire $1 worth of stamps for which he wants $A5,000.

Image

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RARE-GERMAN-STAM ... 0480596627?

And they are not even inflation stamps. This stupidity, started by a web page which has since removed the offending item, and recently compounded by gullible people such as quality_world2010 and 09rado2004, seems to be growing and speading, with most of the idiots doing even less research than quality_world2010 and simply deciding that 10 cent stamps are worth $1,000's

I tried to follow up these Germania issues by making a best offer on ebay of 0.01 c but the minimum is $1 and I didn't want to risk that much in case he accepted it!

Note he states he has " 5 available" does that mean these 5 stamps or has he really got 5 scarce lots of these rare stamps at $5000 each "set" All excellent condition including " thebrown one which has some damage" ? ( Ie a bloody great chunk out of it  )

I think they are all Australians, Are all three Charlies hopeful failed opal diggers?

Yippee - I'm a Millionaire. I've got LOADS of these spares.

I've got my business plan - undercut his prices by 25%, aggressive marketing strategy (a la Glen Stephens), wait for free listing day on ebay, put feet up, light a big cigar and wait for the £££ to come rolling in.

Oh, and nobody can steal my business plan because I've got patents pending and copyright applied for on it

German inflation stamps strike again:

For only $A95,000, you get this charming little lot

Image

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GERMAN-STAMPS-19 ... 0702587267?

eBayer scorpiolidiya has certainly wasted a listing fee. It's idiots like this seller whose "research" extends to looking at other idiot's listings, such as those from idiot 09rado2004 and idiot quality_world2010 that starts these things feeding off each other.

If any of these people had the the brains to walk into a library, and read a catalogue, they would know that they were trying to sell 10 cent junk box stuff.

Check his description.

What an idiot, pardon the French ... - Is there a law somewhere aginst this, either Ebay or Aussie land? (regarding the returns that is, being a Ebay idiot isn't grounds for prision sadly)

The only applicable law is the law of Google Hits. For people like scorpiolidiya it is our best weapon, as a certain 19 year old New Zealander (and his father) found out last year.

There is another stamp which is the 800 tausend on 500 marks green colour stamp that is catalogued at 1,700 pounds sterling used and 20 pence mint.

The ' used ' ones turn up on EBay now and then, never with a certificate, funnily enough. :o

I have literally hundreds of these, all values, ranging from singles to complete sheets. It is actually harder to find a perfect stamp in this series than it is to find one with a plateflaw. Sorting them out is on my ' to do ' list. NO! That is not a bog roll, it is my ' to do ' list. :D

Hi everyone

looking for some advice/help i have quite a large collection of stamps, from all over the world, mainly from 1920 to about 2006, I've only just recently started looking at values on some of them.

I have some German inflation stamps one pinkish/red 200, with a 2 million overstamp, one 400 with a 100 saufend (green) one red 500 with a 250 saufend a green 1000 with 800 saufend and a red 5 with a 2 million overstamp. http://yob.deviantart.com/art/stamps-213026098

how do you value stamps to sell because I've seen varying prices for them they're all in (used) but good condition,
also if they are sold, what is the best way to set them and send them?

Also I have a red Australian one penny, I've noticed that they also sell for quite a bit. Amongst myriads of others. Here in South Africa I approached one stamp dealer as I wanted an overall value (for insurance) and he gave me a value on +/- 1000 stamps at R30.00 approximately Three GBPounds.

thanks for your help

The overprint is "Tausend", not "saufend".

Unused inflation stamps are worth pennies. Used inflation
stamps are worth more than their mint counterparts, but
most are still of minimal value. But there are a few that are
worth big bucks. However, as you might expect, these are
prone to having forged cancels.

We won't be able to help you any more unless you post
pictures here. Most people won't bother to click on a link.

Also, there is at least one recent thread on this same
subject. I suggest you use the search facility.

The stamps in your scan are, as far as i am aware, extremely common and of minimal value. As to the red Australian One Penny, without a scan cannot even guess at a value (although most likely to also be very minimal value). There were quite a few different red 1d stamps issued by Australia over the years. As a general rule, used these are worth a few cents each.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother trying to sell the stamps (assuming your scan is representative). If you have a child or a young relative, give the stamps to them as a starter collection (assuming you don't want to start your own collection).

I just looked at your link. I had to blow it up 400% to see
anything. Your used stamps are all post-inflation issues and
I see nothing of value there. Several also have condition
problems.

Going throu 09rado2004 (165)'s feedback, I noticed this positive one:

#220703175925

>>>LOOK<<<< INFLATION ISSUE>>> 1923 TAUSEND /GERMANY (#220703175925)

Sold for US $325.00
Buyer: newmontagu (556) 14-Dec-10 22:26

I hope it was a good deal for the buyer .... from the description alone, I'd say that's US $324 too much.

Hello,

First post, I recently looked over my grandmothers old stamp collection that had been sitting around. There were a ton of inflation stamps of which the highest marked is 200 milliones , but only one was used.

Would a used 100 milliones like this be worth anything.

Sorry for the picture quality

That's not one of the valuable ones. It's more interesting for
the off center denomination. I'd guess it's worth about a buck.

A scary thought.

From your second scan, and if it is in otherwise good condition, the 2m Grey and Black 1934 Air Mail stamp has a decent catalogue value (GBP 20) and probably has a market value of up to AUD 10. But otherwise, yes, Glen is right. 10 - 20 cents per page.
