Natalie, I'm having the same trouble with FDC's. I can do stamps OK but even reducing the size of the FDC in photobucket will not work! I have a new LiDE 700F scanner that I'm still trying to work out :cry:

It says it can scan over 1200 dpi but so far I can only find the setting for 600. It's all very frustrating. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative!

Finding the 1200 setting on Canon Lide 700F is not intuitive I agree 100% - this is what you need to do -

The size of the image on your computer is IRRELEVANT to what ends up in your 800 x 800 photobucket link.

Photobucket takes a massive size file 40 or 50 MEGS of the whale cover and reduces it down to this -

I consider myself a luddite and these easy to follow instructions are absolutely spot on. The picture above isn't beginners luck (I hope) and I have successfully managed to post pictures onto several new threads tonight.

drbillellis - as you were advised your FIRST post should be in Roll Call - not here.

As you can see you added [img] tags which were not needed as photobucket gave them to you anyway, so you have 2 sets .. remove one set and you are good.

Had you used the "PREVIEW" button you'd have seen the post was not right.

You read the read tutorial again and lot the link with [img] codes on them, and use the PREVIEW button and you'll see if you got it right.

The cover is just the way we like them so no worries there.

And this IS the practise thread so you can use it whenever and how often you like. Questions on other matters should be elsewhere but we are always happy to answer questions about the posting of images here.

A couple of things 78lam.

Images will always display best if they have a contrasting background. Most stamps and covers will look better with a black (or at least dark) background. This is particularly so when concentrating on perforations or lack thereof. The border should be cropped so it as unobtrusive as possible.

Wherever possible images should not be on the same line as text. That is not a rule but a simple enter after your last post would have put the word and smiley on the next line.

To get multiple items loaded up to a show-off album I scanned them and saved them all in the one folder as .jpg images.
Then logged on to photobucket and created a new "public album".
Opened the new album and clicked on upload photos/videos.
Browsed to and opened the folder with the show-offs in it.
Selected all images by - clicking on first image then, while holding down the "ctrl" button, clicked on the others one at a time thus selecting them all.
Going from 1st to last in one action did not work.
Clicked on OPEN and all 13 of them were uploaded in about 15-20 seconds.

Hi Admin, That is what I intended to do with the images in the private Album - put them in my posts and not delete them. So how do I remove the post with the link in it? - or can you remove it for me? I will put some of the images in a post to a relevant topic.
