I have been interested in cartography since boyhood. I expect that many other stamp collectors share my passion.

So, let's post images of our stamps depicting maps of various parts of the world here. But please, NO GLOBES! :roll:

I'll post images of several of my maps on stamps to get the topic started.

Airplane and map of route of an official 1954 Portugal presidential overseas tour by Francisco Higino Craveiro Lopes da Silva de Tovero (1894-1964), printed by typography and lithogravure, and issued for use in the Portuguese colony of São Tomé e Príncipe (Saint Thomas and Prince Islands) in June, 1954, Scott No. 367, SG No. 438. The areas highlighted in red denote Portuguese colonies (some of which are now independent nations).

Good, detailed maps of the territories of the former Indian States (like Jammu & Kashmir and Junagadh on that Pakistani stamp

) aren't easy to locate, and this one of Jaipur State

is just a shade too small to be really useful ...

Ah, some nice stamps shown. I like cartography aswell.

Estonia 1923 100mk. High nomination, was used mostly on heavy shippments, money orders.

Estonia 1991 2.50 roubles. Inflation period.

Topographical map showing the route of the Asian Highway, and the United Nations emblem, printed by lithogravure, and issued by Ceylon on May 2, 1972 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East (ECAFE), Scott No. 469, and postmarked at Kalagedihena. Note: This was the last stamp issued by Ceylon, which changed its name to the Republic of Sri Lanka on May 22, 1972.

Christmas Island is another issuing authority with numerous postage stamps showing an outline of the country. Here are three examples:

The first known map of the entire Baltic Sea is the nautical chart which Swedish hydrographer Johann Månsson made around 1644. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Månsson's chart, designed by Swedish artist Harald Sallberg (1895-1963), engraved by Sven Ewert, and issued by Sweden on April 15, 1944 to commemorated the 300th anniversary of the chart, Scott No. 348, Facit No. 351.

Map of the West Indies, engraved and printed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co., and issued for use in Trinidad & Tobago on April 22, 1958 to publicize the inauguration of the West Indies Federation, Scott No. 86, SG No. 281. Historical note: This federation was a short-lived political union of British colonies that existed from January 3, 1958 to May 31, 1962. The federation's erstwhile members are named and indicated by solid colors on the map.
