Australia 2009-2011 images wanted

Nothing much has changed.

I rely on Gibbons Stamp Monthly for the catalogue details and my library is currently three months behind as they forgot to renew their subscription - but like Christmas it is coming.

The images of gummed stamps are taken from WNS and for some reason they have not uploaded any world stamps for two months now.

Thanks for that. It does not help at the moment because the latest entries for the Aussie stamps are issues from July 2011.

However I will be looking at the site to see if there are images of a better quality than those we have used for some of the earlier years.

At first glance it also appears to be quite a valuable resource for other Stampboard purposes.

Interesting resource, and as mentioned will be helpful got earlier years. Just be careful with the more modern images, that they seem to have been lifted from the Stamp Bulletin or the Australia Post website. While generally accurate, there have been some issues in the past few years where the actual stamp is different to the illustration either in the Bulletin or online.

A quick look shows some errors, gummed stamps described as self-adhesive. I also saw some very poor quality images but also some very good ones. Care will need to be taken.

I agree. I was looking for common ground with a collector in Brazil who wants Polish stamps. He has Scott, I have Michel and never the twain shall meet and so I searched around and came up with several on-line free catalogues, the 2 easiest were this one and Stanley Gibbons.

I'm computer illiterate so perhaps you can bring the sites to the attention of the Stampboard members. It would be great if we could all start to speak the same language.
It would be good if the site was identified on Stampboards home page as a 'fall back site' when all else fails in identifying a stamp.

There have been some complimentary remarks lately about the Visual Catalogue - Australia thread and full credit to ewen s for suggesting it and to iomoon for doing most of the work. Since I have taken over there has been invaluable assistance from 1stStamp for which I am most grateful.

However the fact remains that quite a number of the older images are not of a satisfactory standard. Most of them are self-adhesives but occasionally there are gummed stamps like this one ...

The assistance of members is again sought to obtain images of Australian self-adhesive stamps. Please see details on the previous post.

While we need to upgrade many existing images, the most urgent need is for stamps issued in 2012 and 2013.
