This seems to have gone largely unnoticed in the Australian Stamp world.

Sel Pfeffer has retired his Monthly "The Modern Scene" articles from Stamp News, after 30 years of columns. While I never purchased from him, and do not have a lot of interest in FRAMAS, Booklets, Flyspecks, and other modern material, I always read every word of his column. He sure knows a lot of what he speaks.

I do understand that his health has been a bit "iffy" over the past few years, and certainly wish him the best for the future. Sel, I will miss your Column very much.

Norm

Yes, all the best to Sel.

It must be hard finding 'experts' to write for columns who actually know what they are talking about, and any retirement of a wealth of information will be surely missed.

Darrin.

Have read and enjoyed Sel's articles for years and have purchased some nice stamps from him. A true gentleman to deal with.

His business, Boonah Stamp Supplies has some great modern Australian material.

All the best to him for the future. :)

I too have enjoyed his columns for a number of years, I do have a keen interest in frama stamps and his columns have been a wealth of information. His Frama catalogue is an excellent publication and an essential reference for anyone who collects Australian framas.

Not to mention his excellent BOOKLETS catalogue.

Sel has nearly outlasted me in the monthly columns now I think on it. :)

Happy Retirement. :D

I don't collect framas or booklets but have purchased the odd 'bit' from Sel and also enjoy his column in the Stamp News. I will miss his input.

Thanks Sel, happy retirement.

Had hoped to catch up with Sel next weekend in Canberra, but now don't know if he will travel there.
Haven't seen him since the last Canberra Stamp Show, two years ago.

Although using a "walker" at the time, he was still as sharp & keen as ever. Guess he relies on his wife for much more these days.
