To celebrate, I have decided to give away a very pretty example of the world's most iconic and best known stamp -
the Great Britain 1840 "Penny Black". The World's first postage stamp.
As you can see, this is a handsome 4 margin example, and is free of thins or creases or toning etc, etc.
Stanley Gibbons catalogue price £400 - Registered post free to some lucky member here!
Cancelled with a light red "Maltese Cross" cancel. It is from plate 2 and has the slightly double corner letters on corner letters "EA".
SG AS14c Cat £400. It is a stamp EVERY collector yearns to own, whether you collect GB or not - and not many ever secure one for some reason. Here is your big chance. Totally FREE!
= = = = = = = = =How to win - well that is a cinch. Simply type any 5 digit number. As often as you like. 100s of guesses if you wish.
REMEMBER YOU ARE ALWAYS TYPING A FIVE (5) DIGIT NUMBERAnd that number of course
CAN start in zero.
History shows us this thread will get to many 1,000s of posts very fast. So post NOW, and post often - or miss your chance!
How is the winner determined? Quite simply - Wall Street will tell us!We simply will look at where the Wall Street Dow Jones Index finishes at
end of trading in New York on Monday April 9, 2012. i.e. Well into Tuesday April 10th in Australia. Therefore I can't be accused of rigging things! The last five (5) digits is what we look at.The last posting can be made an hour before Wall Street closes on that day. Anything guessed after that is invalid.
i.e., if Wall Street closes at 13,
216.54 -
the last 5 digits or 21654 makes the stampboard member who first posted
21654 on the thread the WINNER!
The site we will use to verify the Wall Street final 5 digits, as regards to accuracy (some newspapers or servers round number up or down to nearest decimal) is as it will be shown daily on Yahoo finance -
http://finance.yahoo.com/?u So if Wall Street ends on 13,
216.54 - whomever first posts number
21654, or the closest above that number is the WINNER.
ANYONE can win ..... all Moderators included -
except myself and fromdownunder who is scrutineer. It is a totally random 5 digit number that Wall Street will reveal to us that day.
The FIRST member to post the correct number will be our winner. If 2 members type the correct number, the FIRST one to do so, shall be the winner.
Type ONLY 5 numerals - no spaces or periods or commas - simply 21654 etc - as otherwsie the final audit of winner will be impossible. All other entries are deeded invalid.
So, we have until April 9th NY time for a member reading this to win a this lovely "1d Black" mailed to you FREE, Registered Airmail anywhere in the world - lets get the fun started! Remember ...... make 20 or 50 or 100 or 500 or 5000 posts - and your Member Star level moves up with EVERY post you make - even within this one thread. And that of course gives you 20 or 50 or 100 or 500 or 5000
different chances to win! EVERY post you make within this thread moves your member count up one.
And post
EARLY and post
OFTEN Did you know we have
THIRTY different colour star levels - based on your post count, and which are changed automatically by the software? All of them fully outlined here:
http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=314&start=0If you for instance only have 15 posts now - you will get an Aqua Star at 25 posts, a very neat Black Ninja Star at 50, and a classy RED star at 100 etc. You can readily achieve all those in a a few minutes on just one thread, and maybe win something worth $100s whilst doing it.

You can make 10 or 50 or 100 or 1000 posts in a row if you wish ... it greatly increases your chances ..... so go for it!
We had
over 100,000 entries in our "Millionth Post" thread -
http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20112The Judge's decision is
final on any disputes .... and guess who the Judge is here.

In the very remote case the Wall Street number is NOT selected by anyone - the NEXT closest number
above it posted here shall be deemed the winner.
i.e. if 21654 is the last 5 digit Wall Street finish, and is not found posted, then 21655 is the winner. ... or the next number above that
which IS posted here - it might be 21667 for instance.
All very simple to isolate using the forum specific search function here.
Let the fun begin - "gentlemen .... start your engines".
