I have these two 1935 1d lettercards with two different adverts and am curious if anyone can tell me whether there are more advert types on the the 1d.

I would suggest contacting the RPSNZ and seeing if their Handbook that was recently published from the comprehensive work by the late Robert Samuel and edited by Brian Vincent.

http://www.rpsnz.org.nz/our-writings/publications-overview/38-volume-ix-postal-stationery.html

This is in full colour and I would have thought a MUST for serious NZ collectors of all eras.

Tony is absolutely correct. Volume lX of the Postage Stamps of New Zealand (Pub. by the Royal Philatelic Society of New Zealand) is an excellent source of information on the subject of Postal Stationery.

The information you require is on pages 125-6.

There are two types of card. The first (issued in 1935) has the lines of the instruction "IF USED......" 1½mm apart. The second type (recorded from 1938) has the lines just ½mm apart. The second type is much scarcer.

There are 9 different adverts recorded. Details from Vol lX below:-

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that,
I now see I will be on the trail of the other 13 !
which may keep me busy for a while, as I imagine some of them are quite rare.

I only have Vol. 2 of RPSNZ handbooks, they are unfortunately very expensive, but I agree, indispensable.
I have a eldery friend who has the entire set and has hinted he might be leaving them to me, but at 86 he still is fit as a fiddle ! so I keep putting off buying any copies, just in case...

I will try borrowing Vol.IX from the RPSNZ library.

Thanks again, for the help.
Mark
