Just sorted a bunch of machins.
I'm a machins lover btw :D

Here's a pic of my extras (27p upwards).
Hopefully we can help each other to expand our machin collections.

I'm open for suggestion for trades.

First machin on top left is 27p.
The franking on the stamp kinda made it hard to see.

Here's more from me :
the 4p orange may look a bid odd as I forgot to put it together when snapping the photo. So I copy from somewhere else and paste it there :P

I cannot help with Phosphor bands because I presently have no way of identifying them

Hi maszki,

I'm open for suggestion.
I try to differentiate the variances of machins but i didn't go thru it in details. I do try to look for phosphor bands difference but that's about it other than the obvious differences. One of the 4d in the pic has 2 side bands and the other basically has none.

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

Are you aware that none of the stamps in your second scan are "Machins"?

There have been country stamps for Scotland, Wales etc. that used the Machin head but these ones have the earlier designs using the Dorothy Wilding portrait (apart from the two much more recent English stamps with the lion designs).

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the info.
I figured whoever interested in Machins would also be interested in collecting Wildings. So I just post it here as well :)

I would like to join in this machin trade. At present I'm just sorting out the basics of what I have and what I have for trading so bear with me for a few days.

Here are the Machin's I have for exchange. I suspect nothing very exciting. There's a lot I need. If you are interested in any of these let me know.

Hi Glyn,

Thanks for the scans.
There is probably a few that would be a great addition to my collection.

But please give me a while to first sort out with other traders that has been patiently waiting for my respond.

I'm doing my best to catch up with all as soon as possible :)
Thank you for your patience !

Yes, the 15p from the top row, and then on the rest of the card
21/2p 7p 15p 14p 18p 19p
and on the second card only
111/2p

Okay,
Regards

Hi Glyn,

I'll check my duplicates for the first photo.
However, I don't quite understand your picks on the second photo.

And do you need any of these ?

Yes, it does look a bit odd, 'eleven and a half p' only on the second card.

That's ok then. I'm really happy to wait. It was only I wondered is one person emailing me but a completely different person communicating with me on the board and I didn't want to promise the same thing to do different people! :)

All i can say.. is you guys are killing me :) (not in a bad way)... I have envelopes of envelopes of Machins that I can't go through yet.. cause my albums are full of them, and I don't have enough stockpages to get everything transferred...

One of the real pains of living in St. Louis... only have two stamp dealers around here to spend money on [way too many coins shops!] and one is "cash-only" transactions, and their stock supplies are LIMITED at best... (and shipping for stock pages in the US is driving me batty!).

it took me ages to sort them too :P
I guess you could go with glassines for the time being, although it wont be as fun as with stockpages.

Would any of you Machin collectors be interested in swapping for US Perfins? I have acquired many Machins but don't collect them and I do collect US Perfins. I'd propose a stamp for stamp swap without trying to sort for value. What do you think???

Hi

Good to see others also have the machin bug. I'm always sorting mine out and use a stock book for storage. Is the SG Concise the best way to sort these?

Hi Mantisir,

Glad to see another GB Machin collector.
This site has a some very nice info on Machins :

http://www.adminware.ca/machin.htm

It was recommended to me by our friendly Stampboard members as well :)
