Yeah, i will chase up the Swiss stuff this afternoon..
.
Easter, how can it be EASTER????
It is only ...the first week of April
Probably a good time to think about things over Easter.
There are probably a number of people waiting for things from me, but we have been a bit distracted in recent times.
Will try to use Easter to go back over emails, and catch up on the housekeeping.
My apologies for delays ( No, wait, this is Stamp Boards....if you get it this year, be grateful )

My wife has once again turned down my request for money to purchase a stamp I badly need.

So--

I have been sitting contemplating ----

Why is my wife so mean ?

Why do we no longer get free toys in breakfast cereals?

Why is it taking twice as much cheap port to satisfy me as it used to?

Why are Western Wagon Wheels less than half the size they were when they were first released?

Should I try flowers or chocolate to bribe her?

Do the dishes, make her a camomille tea and massage her shoulders.
Don't forget the candles and the aromatherapy sticks.

And if you ever drive through Oberon in NSW you'll find the biggest and best traditional wagon wheels from the local bakery I've ever seen. :D
The size of a side plate at dinner!

Question, I have seen alot of "bots" in the people on line box is that a spy trolling for something? And what is it looking for?

I am entering my postal strike exhibit in a Delware one day stamp show hopefully my champ will bring home the gold. Out of the 7 other partial exhibits done I feel the philatelic exhibit on aids on stamps would be a good seperate exhibit. When I get more money I will acquire enough stuff to add 12 pages to make a one frame.

I already replaced those aids pages in the LGBT exhibit with three other people, I will also check the amount of related non-philatelic material for overkill. But what do you do when most of the people do not have much philatelic material and to avoid over saturating with like philatelic material I have to use related non-philatelic material.

So mention of head lice would not be a good idea?

That would depend on whether you were planning to serve them in gravy, black bean sauce, or as an Easter treat covered in chocolate?
But Nutritious, cheap, plantiful and free-range. :D
Only thing is whether or not they are a protected native species

They only congregate for the "kicking down a dunny door" ritual. :D

A Cassowary is a large flightless bird, found in tropical Australia and New Guinea. A dunny is an outhouse, a WC.

That was view 199,888,
approaching the mile stone of 200,000, which is approximately 2/3 of the number in the "introduce yourself" thread.
Must be a lonely planet. :?:
:?:
Strewth mate, yu dunna no wot ya missing, knot speekins 'strine.
:idea: "dunny" is the smallest room in the house, but away from the house to keep the smells at bay, with only one seat, no table, and a sign that reads;
"Please keep the lid up, men use this more than women, and our aim is not as good when we only have the smaller hole to aim at.'
:?:
 Cassowary is a large flightless bird, similar in size ti an Emu ( delicious) or an ostrich, but that lives in dense forest cover rather than on open plains and solitary life style.

Not nice!

You take the lot or it's no deal.

I do not break up large consignments into smaller parcels.

Besides, the wife is GUARANTEED to keep you in line.

The minutes of the GOMC meeting 3rd April, 2012
This was the first meeting at The Kilsyth Club, as an official meeting ( back hander deals have been done there for years)
Fistly, the morning session. How the Hell would I know, I was not there ( We need the services of an Official Secretary )
But I believe that Fercon Jerry, Phil the walrus, Goldfinge and even the Butterfly man were there. Who knows what plotting went on, but I am given to understand that there was some horse trading conducted.
.
Secondly, the afternoon session.
Present was I, so that was all that was required, but also were Harry ( aka "The Silver Fox"), Waroff 49 and Fercon Jerry.
The venue was large and open.
The seating arrangements were an improvement.
The coffee was an improved model.
The toilet facilities were a great improvement
The background music, was music, not radio ads
The coffee served by a waitress, without thumbs in the cup
Meals were available, and I might have lunch there next week
The tone of conversation was very moderate
The "Show 'n' Tell" material could be laid out on table, and there was no cartons to be tramped while moveing around.
Included grotty covers from a recent auction purchase, FDCs and freebies from Harry, OHMS wrappers addressed to
the Sub-Accountant,
Telegraph Accounts,
as another part of his "have you ever seen these before....????"
So all in all, a vastimprovement       But it was not THE SHOP and there was no MR BOGGLER..
.
The Sexcretary departed early as he had to meet an Ice Maiden.
shame, shame, and shamed.

GOMC's,

I will be moving to Australia in 2013 if Mitt Romney Rick Santoram becomes President

Douglas, Yes, we do have them, but they stay here.
Actually you need to define a little what you are collecting.
There are covers that are the FDC of issue, but not necessarily on the Coronation day.
There are covers specially issued for the Coronation, with FDC
There are other covers specially issued for the Coronation date, but not as FDC but rather as Sovernir types.
There are covers with special cancels
And then in Australia there were many different people/firms each making their different cover
And I have two French covers celebrating the marriage of the Abdicated King.
I do not suppose it made much news in the USA, but it did throughpout the Brithish Empire ( now Commonwealth of Nations ).
India, Burma, ( Malay States issue their own stamps but did not have stamp issued but would have covers ), South Africa, Canada and a variety of others.
Plus is it just covers, or stamps as well and Mint or Used.
It CAN become a wide field.............   leading to ......

Thank you Philly for keeping us up to the number. You are making this a counting thread and our former leader would be turning in hid urn.

This is a sample of what I need, the countries I listed in the prior post are what I have, I need the covers that I don't have.

I am wanting to also do a exhibit on the covers, but I want to get all the covers that were issued without going broke which I am now for my collection. I need covers from countries not listed.

This is what we refer to as an "Omnibus" set.
The identical stamp, name of country apart, issued by different countries.
The Stanley Gibbons British Commonwealth Catalogue will list all of the counties that partook.
Newfoundland is a bit of a story in itself.
Australia did not issue them.
