Hi Everyone. I collect Stamps, Coins and Banknotes. My first preference is stamps and 2nd is Banknotes. I have very low number of coins and not much interested in swap as it took more expensive for postage. I don't collect rare or costly banknotes. I collect at least one paper banknote and Polymer banknote from each country. You can view my collection in this thread (2nd page)

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=17713&start=50

In that I have some gaps. To fill those gaps I'm looking for banknotes from the following countries. Any denomination is welcome. If its your mother country I prefer Uncirculated condition (UNC) if possible.

ASIA: JAPAN

To be short, Guardian and Tyvek are the 2 types of Polymers to print Polymer banknotes. Australian Polymer is a Guardian type of polymer. Guardian polymer in circulation include: Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Dominican Republic, Hong Kong (for a 2-year trial), Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Solomon Islands (no longer issued), Sri Lanka, Thailand, Samoa, Singapore and Zambia. Tyvek did not perform well and used only in few countries polymer notes. Hybrid notes are combination of cotton paper and polymer. Hybrid also a successful polymer used in various countries.

Hi Rks.saran

I have a bundle of African notes, but only one (a 1973 Angolan 500 Escudos) is in unc. condition. I'm not selling them at the moment.I just wanted to know, how do you mail them without them getting stolen?

I once sent a Mozambican note to someone in the USA,who won a competition I held and it mysteriously disappeared from the letter.

Thanks

Hi John, Its easy as sending kilowere stamps. For sending bunch of banknotes internationally, you need to pack it tight with the polythene cover and the outer cover should be strong one (may be courier cover or any kind of plastic parcel bags available). The main thing is send it only through Registered post. This is enough i hope. I'm not sure you send it through registered or a regular mail.

Even last week, i received 2 bundles of banknotes from Zimbabwe. I'm using the same method to send my banknotes internationally.

Your packing should be good enough to hide the presence of banknotes inside. If someone noticed 100% it won't reach the destination. :(

For high value banknotes i use international private couriers... This is 100% safe but costly.

I might have a Papua New Guinean K2 (kina) banknote left over from a recent trip. I think it could still be sitting on my desk somewhere...

Somewhat tatty, but if you'd like it, then PM me your postal address. I think it's that plastic stuff (polymer?) that our Australian notes are made of (a great idea in case you get stuck in the middle of the wet season with holes in your pockets! )

Do you still need the new polymer banknotes of Canada? What denominations do you want? There are $100, $50, and $20 available now, $5 and $10 will be coming later this year.
