let's see if someone who specializes in Ascension wants them first.. as you collect "olympics," no?

Also, let me spread them out as I want to get as many people as possible to find what they want.

thanks though.. brian

No Issues. I will wait if someone else is interested in taking these. If there are no takers then I will have them. :D

Still open for anyone interested in "Ascension". :)

I tried really really hard to restrict myself to just one collecting area.

Epic fail ... I couldn't do it. I did manage to keep it down to five though.

No, I don't collect Ascension, unless it was a cover sent to New Guinea, or has a kangaroo on it.

god, do I know how you feel. Epic failure here also. First it was Australia, always on and off with the US, then Canada came into the picture, then Europe, until NZ showed up. It's just easier to buy out the store than to decide..no? lol.

cheers, brian

I suffer from this problem always. I am fairly new to the world of stamps and flipped flopped from one theme to another. I am currently running with the Royal Families, GB, Marine Life and India of course.
I sometimes find it difficult to keep my hands off some birds and reptiles stamps so my collection is all mash up.

you know shona, it seems that is common to all of us.. lol. Marine life has really done well as a topic, especially whales. The BCW has really issued a lot of stamps to the Royal Family, and wow.. did Diana bubble. I guess it has popped by now.

Panda bears seems to have been best topic so far.. that or dogs.

all the best.. cheers, brian

Hi Bahn, as much as I would love those stamps as they are two that I haven't got!!!, I am going to be good  and let you give them to someone who "really" collects Ascension!

Like you and shona and Muruk, I can't resist when it comes to stamps! I decided some time ago to ONLY collect Australia and Canada and New Zealand.......well, my WW collection is growing faster than those 3 put together and my Indian States are growing even faster!

What is it about us collectors!?! :? Is this an obssession??? or an addiction???

Oh, who cares!! I'm just going to continue collecting stamps! and I don't care what country any more! The more, the better!!!

Anne

Well, my personal favorites are not Whales but smaller colorful fishes and corals. I bought some from the UNPA and they are just wow.
I was always a huge fan of Lady Diana and her stamps come out exclusively well. :)
But stamps are fascinating and such a pleasure for us all.

While I do collect British Commonwealth stamps in general and have a small collection of Ascension, it is not one of my main collecting areas so it would be better for these to go to someone who more specifically collects Ascension stamps...sure there must be someone out there!

MY HERO.. that is what I collect... started with Australia/US and went to canada and now mostly NZ... I am trying to get back to that. Not sure if I will just do Australia any more.. but geez do I have a lot of stuff from there.

Love my NZ though.. and it's worth 1/2 of everything I own.

Don't know if you know this, but NZ is almost exactly the same size as Colorado, almost exactly the same population, with almost exactly the same breakdown of towns.. Denver/Auckland, etc.. all the towns being founded about the same time... and post offices set up about the same time. When you look at it.. it's really weird, with one difference.. NZ gets to display their history on their stamps, Colorado doesn't. Now that ain't right.

cheers, brian/bah

Wow Brian! Definitely a surprise, but a pleasant one indeed. Nice to see you here on stampboards!

Been doing ok, struggling to find enough time to do much with stamps with family life...just have a new daughter 7 weeks old, so she is keeping us extra busy!

I have the US sets if you want them.. also the Marshall Islands and Palau are US trust territories, and I have a lot of them, with fish and corals. Will dig some up for you if interested. Just give me some time.. but we're in no major hurry, eh?

Also, my sister is collecting Lady Di on stamps, but only if I put them in a frame so she can put up for display in her office.

Me, personally, Lady DI and I are/were about the same age. I don't understand why she would marry that Charles guy, instead of me. Maybe I should have sent that American woman over there sooner... lol. (it's just a joke, people).

cheers ,brian

Well, that's wonderful. Congratulations! I am happy for you beyond words.

I am still trying to give away stamps.. but it's still growing faster than it's disappearing. Wish my money would do that.

Good seeing you again.. and as always.. happy stamping.

cheers, brian

Right, once again - no more train wreck threads please Bahn.

The member above clearly has zero idea if these stamps are taken yet and neither does anyone else I'd suggest.

You have chewed up well over an hour of mod time in the past 24 hours on this stuff. Many members have hit the "Report Post" button.

If you offer something it goes to the FIRST person who responds ON the thread.

Not to someone who has emailed you privately, not to your next door neighbour or old friend, not someone you think might be more interested, not to a pen pal on another un-connected thread.

Got it?

You offer it, someone accepts, you confirm it is to be mailed and thread is locked. That is how it works for ALL members ..... not a trial script for Peyton Place.

Another thread locked as this kind offer appears to have been taken - not that any members have a clue really to whom.

Thanks Admin.
