One on the left looks like a reprint using a darker colour red, with the design & letters now more defined and appearing larger.

Assuming that they were scanned together, the stamp on the right is just a touch smaller in print size than the other. This could be due simply just to 2 slightly different papers drying out after soaking and ending up a different size. But it's barely 0.25 of a mm.

Could be an illusion as the right stamp is missing the perforations on the right but they look the same to me too.

No , they are different. I checked with my software.
Gutters, try the left side instead of the top side.

I don't know how far apart, time wise, the 2 print runs were, but if they used a different press to print the 2 examples, one a flat bed and one a rotary (or 2 different rotary presses), then the image can be lengthened (or widened) by the stretching of the round plate.

USA stamps for some earlier 20th century stamps did the same thing.

Those Germania stamps were printed from 1900 to 1922 - lots of differences are known.
