Hi all,

I don't have many of these but recall seeing them from Australia, Great Britain and Ceylon. Did any other countries issue them??

Either way, I have to say I quite like them and would love to see other examples also if you have further information please add it here especially how many offices had them.

To start us off here is one from Dover (GB) and a few from Ceylon: Kandy, Neboda and Potuhera

Here is some Victorian ones I have .

1. Money. Order. Office. and Saving Bank. Yarrawonga .



Not real sure if it`s M. O. O. S. B. or M. O. a. S. B. , But some one will know .

2 .Money Office & Saving Bank . St Kilda Railway Station .



3 . M . O . Office . Echuca.



I think I have the title`s correct but feel free to correct them if not .

Would like more people to post there`s as well.

And then there`s the Telegraph office`s as well probably a new thread one it`s own .

Nigeria and Sierra Leone certainly had MO & SB cancels. Ghana had some devices inscribed "Mobile SB" followed by a number, intended for use in mobile post offices (vans) offering savings bank facilities. The Sierra Leone ones hardly ever turn up on stamps, but Nigerian post office staff were less particular.

I'll try to find and scan some examples over the weekend.

Phil, I don't have any Nigeria or Sierra Leone are they pretty scarce?

I found a couple more, not great strikes but I think they are Collingwood Victoria and Mitiamo also Victoria

Hello all ,

Lundy it is my understanding { in Australia any way } that M . O. & S. B. stood for Money Order { post office } & Saving Bank not "Mail Order" , You may need to change the Tiltle .

The Mitiamo one "might" be a scarcer cancel as it is only a two horse town even now .

Your Collingwood one, Mhhhhhh with a full "Victoria" across the bottom I don`t know whether it would fit , might be Collins St if there was one there some one might know .

It's M.O. Collingwood, the spacing is correct and you can just make out -VIC- across the bottom.

Mitiamo may be a small community now, but it wasn't always like that.

Re Mitiamo , Yes I know a lot of small in there day had a Gold Rush or likes and had 15 pubs 3 brothel`s 2 P . O. `S ETC AND Two years latter where Ghost towns , lot`s in W .A . Like that
