Do you want to improve your Karma? Well, this thread is designed to enable Stampboarders to do just that by giving stamps, or anything philatelic, away for absolutely nothing in return.

The catch is that, if you accept the free offer, you must in turn list something up for free. When YOUR offer has been accepted by another boarder, then YOUR stamps will be sent to you.

The Rules:

1. The offer is to be totally free including regular postage anywhere. If the recipient wants registered post, it will be up to the donor to ask for payment to cover that, or not. Items sent by regular post are posted at the recipient's risk. If an offer is not accepted within 7 days, the person making the offer must add more material to it or withdraw the offer. If the offer is not added to, it is deemed to be withdrawn and any other member may make an alternative offer.

2. A scan must accompany each offer

3. The first poster accepting the free offer, by posting an acceptance post in the thread, must then, within 24 hours, post up a free offer of similar or greater quality/value. Please DO NOT criticise a freebie on the thread, that would defeat the purpose! If you think that, perhaps, value may not be there, drop an email to a mod and let them take care of any issues.

4. Stamps will NOT to be sent to ANYONE until their free offer has been accepted by another member

5. Clearly, only one offer can be posted and live at any time

6. Only board members with 100 or more posts and 2 months membership are eligible to participate

7. The recipient of any free offer is to scan and post a picture of the envelope received (please ensure that you block/cover/pixelate your address details!!!)

8. Should any member choose to de-rail the process, perhaps by the non-delivery of stamps offered, they will be subject to an automatic 30-day ban from the board. The Moderator Team will monitor the progress of this thread closely

Make the offer worthwhile, this will flow very smoothly and be a lot of fun!

I'll start the ball rolling, and obviously I'm not going to give the house away on an untested thread!

The first giveaway is 120+ US Pre-Cancels, including a nice group of Postage Dues. Quite heavy duplication (New York, Chicago especially), but many smaller towns and different types

Glen,
Does this mean you just 'bought' the German collection? I thought this was a single-chain transaction/thread.

One offers, next one accepts and offers, next one accepts that and offers more, etc etc. Throwing in extra offers is confusing? Or have I missed the point?

Ian, well spotted. The plan was for one item at a time, however, if each "donor" watches their own freebie forward, it still works. Could become a moderator's nightmare though!!

OK ,, got it.

Sherro's system seems the wisest.

Anyway, seeing I already posted it, i guess, someone can have the Feldman if they want it AND get the Germany if they are happy to be next in line.

Shameless bump!

Does no-one want 100 German stamps so I can send the pre-cancels to Ricolo?

Sherro, I am keeping an eye on this but am away from home until Thursday, if nobody has taken up the offer at that point I will put up a page of recent Australian, but hopefully somebody will respond before then.

Careful .... we might make the rules 200 posts for folks who type in text-speak, in all lower case.

On stampboards we ALL use capital letters in the correct places. ;)

'Fraid not! You can only list a freebie if you take the last one offered (which in this case is 100 Germany)

OK as noted a while ago, I am now home and can say that I will take the German stamps, and I have here a page of recent Australian not as many numerically but some nice items. I will also include 2 different sets, of the most recent Australian 55c stamps, I just haven't sorted them out yet.

Here is the test though, how will my scan go!!!

Our software allows you to go 20% bigger Ann. But it IS an improvement. :D

Have you got your photobucket set to "15"" setting?

Ann as you can clearly see it is much larger.

To see that, you simply right click on ANY image, then left click on "properties" and as you can see image 1 is 479 x 687 and image 2 is 581 x 799 .. or right on the max of 800 for photobucket.

You are still using a far too low rez scanner, but at least the images are bigger!

Big blurry is better than small blurry, especially for what you do on ebay etc. Sharp photos are EVERYTHING on there.

A blurry scan of a page might get you $5 and a clear scan $10 of same page as folks can actually SEE waht they are bidding on, so after a few dozen lots of that nature, a decent Canon lide100 scanner is easily paid off. ;)

Ebay listings fees are the same whether good images or not. :S

Fuzzy in = fuzzy out, to twist a old saying.

If no one is interested in nico_jnk's offer, this thread stops.

May I suggest to allow more than one person to accept (Ann's) offer and post their offering ?

Then the first of these offers being accepted by another stampboard member will get Ann's offer...and so on.

I think this many to one approach will have a better chance to keep this thread on-going.

Is my offer so bad no one's interested?

I think it's adequate according previous batches...may I'm wrong?

From the requirements of this post I should now send the Australian stamps (plus other recent ones I have gathered together) to Nico, however I'm not sure that I want to do that before receiving the stamps that were supposed to come to me.

Am I right in thinking this way?

Thats OK Rico just that you said you were posting them just after the 27th May and I thought that they should have arrived by now.

Nico would you email me your address details and I will have your package ready.

I think it's adequate according previous batches...may I'm wrong?

I will accept this offer. In turn, I am offering the following MUH mainland China complete sets and singles from the mid 1980's, CV $A55.00 (S.G 2004 simplified).

nico_jnk, I will email my postal address to you when my offer is accepted.

Norm:

I'll take your China selection!!

And here is my offer: Canada Olympic stamps. All are Mint, Never Hinged and relate to the Montreal 1976 Olympics.

Hope these are of interest to someone. I originally put the SG Simplified value in, but then changed my mind as it may make others less inclined to put up an item. Free is Free, right!!

librarianc, I would like the stamps. I have the following to offer 2 "stamp collector packets" and 2 MUH very colorful sheets. The packets are in a plastic wrapper. I do know the value of any of the items. I would imagine the stamps in the collectors packs are not worth a lot but the packs are interesting. I will also provide a nice cover with recent US stamps. (let me know if you have any requests)

Got to love those gutters.

If anyone thinks I need to add more to the offer please email me and let me know. I want to be fair but and I don't have a catalog for any of these stamps.

In an effort to keep the thread moving forward and to sweeten the deal I'm going to add a few items to my offer.
the 2 Spanish packets (See above)
2 each of The Israel mini-pane and the Gibraltar blocks from above.

And the following items. 2 of which are Olympic related to keep with the previous offer.

(Please Note: The Grenada stamps not in great condition. No glue, hinges on the back, and a small crease or two. They would be great for a younger collector)

OK. I feel a rule change coming on, and I've added it above, as follows:

"If an offer is not accepted within 7 days, the person making the offer must add more material to it or withdraw the offer. If the offer is not added to, it is deemed to be withdrawn and any other member may make an alternative offer."

Let's get moving folks!
