AUSTRALIAN KGV 2d FAULTS AND FLAWS FROM ELECTRO 10,11,12 & 12A

This thread is a WIKI for the Australian KGV 2d faults and flaws and any other related item.

Listed by electros and by die

The aim of this thread is to have an online catalogue for the faults and flaws and any other related item of the 2d red, orange and red brown KGV stamps of Australia.

To do this we require your input,

If you have an example of a fault that you can post, with an electro number a pane number and the position on that pane.

Then just post it at the bottom of this thread. With the watermark and it's perforation.
And we will do the rest.

If you are unsure that you have the correct number for your stamp ask the KGV gurus on the board
Post your scan there first and ask them the question they can be found here.

YOUR SCANS

Please if possible scan your stamps at 1200 dpi and then place them in your photobucket account at the 15-inch screen setting.

If this cannot be done place your scan anyway it will hold it place on the thread until another1200dpi scan comes along.

The 1200 dpi setting gives a good size picture, as you will see below.

Trim the scan, a little bit of black background is ok but we don't want a half-inch boarder around it, again look at the scans below.

A bit of pride in the scan of your stamp will keep it here for as long as the board stays running. The better scan will always be on display.

The last couple of post on the thread will be random posts from members these posts will stay until we have between ten and twenty and then we will copy the scans and then we will remove all post and arrange them in order with the members name as the contributor like in the post below

Below is a template of what each post will look like.

If we keep all post the same then the WIKI will look good from top to bottom.

DESCRIPTION

Head: Shading line which joins the tip of moustache is broken 1.75 mm above the tip. There is a small flaw below and to the right of this on the upper edge of the beard (not always present).

Head: Colour flaw covers the eyeball and small area below it.

Above Upper Frame: Slightly curved line 0.75 mm above the frame and 3.5 mm long, its left end is 0.5 mm right of crown top.

(NB Similar flaws on 9R1z, 10R20z, 10R49z,11R39z)

Left Frame: Vertical line 0.75 mm long within the frame starting 11.5 mm below the upper frame (not always present).

Left Frame: Small notch 10.25 mm below the upper frame

Outside Left Frame: Thin, vertical line 0.25 mm long 0.25 mm from the frame, its lower end just below level of the lower frame.

Right Value shield: Spot 4.25 mm from the lower frame and 2.25 mm from the right frame.

Left Wattle Spray: Oval flaw on base of the centre leaf just above the upper projecting point of theframe and 1.5 mm from the outer margin of frame.

Value Tablet: Dot above the middle of the 1St E of PENCE.

DAMAGED LEFT FRAME AND KANGAROO SCRATCH

1st state

Left Frame: Deep indentation from 2 to 4.25 mm from the upper frame. The indentation is almost enclosed by a line in the position of the normal outer frame margin. A dot occurs half way up the indentation. (NB Similar flaws on 13L1, 16R58a)

2nd state

Left Frame: Deep indentation from 2 to 4.25 mm from the upper frame. The indentation is almost enclosed by a line in the position of the normal outer frame margin. A dot occurs half way up the indentation.

Kangaroo And Shading Behind It: Scratch 3 mm long begins 12 mm from the lower frame and passes diagonally downwards into the kangaroo's back.

Shading In Oval: Line touching the tip of the beard is broken just to the right of the 1St vertical shading line in the beard.
