A set of these is in aucton right now, and they have used this thread to set Scott and ebay price!

http://www.prestigephilately.com/catlot ... isc&lim=20

A friend looked at lot and told me the only item of real value was the Bhutan set .. and 3 days out it is already bid to $420 - plus 16.5%! = $490 even if no more bids.

My last set at $250 is looking good. ;)

Sold last night for $A725 plus 16.5% = $A845, and the only thing worth having was the Bhutan set. ;)

Someone else just managed to sell a set of these for $400 on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120179224808

But $700 is really pushing it, I think...

Stefy .... have just the one set now at $A295 .. can add it to the Red Backs if you like, and hence no extra post cost for you!

A set got $A845 at Melbourne Auction here when (est $350) when all fees were added

http://tinyurl.com.au/x.php?11ys

The other things in that lot were worth MAYBE $100.

Philately is booming in Bhutan? Suddenly all 12 collectors are stampeding to complete their collections.

Out of curiosity, has anyone made MP3s from these stamps? Safer than repeated plays. :)

I wonder if these brightly coloured (they are actually shiny gold and green) stamps from a 1966 Bhutan Issue gave them the idea for the later record stamps?

Lots of countries were doing those gold/silver foil discs in the 60s...I've tinkered with the idea of making a collection of them. I have so far Burundi, Tonga, and Jordan (how they sunk to this level?...), and I know of this Bhutan set, and one from Qatar. Maybe Sierra Leone did some? They were big into cut-to-shapes.

Well I've got two of the Sierra Leone funnies as well: I posted about them (with pictures) in the cinderella section. If you are interested in them or the Bhutan ones let me know.

I have six of the stamps in FDC, one smaller value I have misplaced while shifting..

Image

What would be the approx. price of each if I intend to sell them now? Or say a set of 6 ( i feel so sad whenever I say 6 instead of 7!)

I bought a small FDC album of 33 x Bhutan 3D FDCs circa 1970 this week which are pretty funny, as they found it hard to cancel all those weird 3D things, so needed to make a strange cancel marking.

They needed to crimp it with a blind embosser, THEN add a straight line handstamp in violet!

Never seen them before so can't be common.

Anyone who collects this stuff please drop me a line - for $65 it is all yours!

LUCKILY for me he also bought this set 7 mint.

http://www.glenstephens.com/rarity.html

Onto my Rarity page this week for $400 - condition is superb. Have seen them up to $700 on ebay.

BHUTAN, PHONOGRAPH RECORD STAMP 1973, FULL SET of 7 different phonograph record stamps, Michel #557-563, Scott #152-152F .

Still a red hot set, and I see a set on ebay now for $US495 -

I have a 3D FDC from Bhutan which has however normal postmarks.

Is the offer for all the 33 FDCs, and are they all different?
