PROBLEM IS, ITS HEAVY, :!: So this is for MELBOURNE members only, :!: PICK UP FROM MY CROYDON SHOP.

We have enough members in Melbourne ... so lets show the rest of the world how we do it down here.

Anyone can drop in to view,so one can see the bargains.

We have a few days to go, and if bids start building up, more goodies WILL be tossed in as I come across them.

Superb and generous offer Ron .. this carton offering sherro can't complain he was up too late to see it. :)

Looking forward to some stiff competition from Waroff too I hope - and the others in the area.

I'll bid $100 right now, to kick things off, and keep them all honest down there. :D :D

Maybe post the address of your shop here Ron, so others in MEL who might like to pop by and bid can find you.

Just before we closed tonight,I added in a 1988 Bicentenary set of 5 books all with mint stamps inc,Face is around $17.00. :D :D

if the bidding keeps going I will add more stuff, but will need to supply a Box as well.

The suitcase, by the way, is a old style, pre war jobby :?: ,in good nick but minus its handle, normal size,NOT a little one, so you get an idea there is a fair bit of "Stuff",

Ron.

When Ron says it's stacked he means 'chockers'. He was adding stuff to it as he pushed me out the door and turned off the lights. There was a least 1 full sheet of NZ, lots of tins, some pages??

I'd say even better than the oyster from Glen.

I do not want to mislead any potential bidders,

but to the best of my Knowledge there is NO 5/- Harbour Bridge,or One Pound Roos, although I do remember a fairly good 5/- Roo going in,

Just remember this is really about getting some cash for Burma,
so as the bidding increases so will the size of this lot. :!: :!: :!:

Just to let you all know,

I have now started on 2nd Suitcase, not as big, about 3/4 size and this is well on the way to being filled too.

The great thing about this is ,,,,I have discovered stuff I had forgotten about, :o :o
also seeing shop floor that I have not seen in over 6 years,
another benifit to me is I am regaining some space, :P

so the more you bid,the more space I regain,GO FOR IT

Yes thats right Geoff and I indicated that when I responded by quoting what you had said, I can do 50-50 at this point but that is probably about all that I could commit to, ie $250!

Good luck

I think with a bit of teamwork, even if we got three or four locals involved, we could get a nice bundle each and a boatload of money for Burma.

Maybe we could even con Ron into doing a "blind split" of the goodies for each participant?

I don't want to make it hard, but the way this one's going, NO-ONE will be able to afford it!

Ok I am going to lunch now.

But here,s where I am at.

WE NOW HAVE 3 (THREE) units,2 cases and One Large Cardboard Box.

The Box is FULLof mainly Aust on/paper.+ more.
The Large Suitcase has the more interesting material in,
the smaller one has the 5/- Roo +.

over the next 24 hours or so,I will be throwing in a few more smaller bits/bobs.but no more bulk.(I don,t think)

It does not worry me how you guys end up sorting this out,
my only request would be NO WEAPONS ALLOWED

and if you think fisticuffs may eventuate please remove yourselves outside the shop.as its Hard To remove Bloodstains from the carpet. :P

OK, looks like I'm after a partner to push this a little higher as well, or I would be happy to be the 3rd nor 4th person in a collective bid. I would be very happy going into a blind split.

Looks like we have 4 people interested. Can we all afford $200 each and make it a collective $800 bid?

Great gesture Ron, and good luck to the eventual winner(s) 8)

Sensational spirit and generosity from all involved - and special thanks to Ron for being the catalyst and source for it all!

Hi All

Wow this really has taken off in a big way.

I just thought people might like to have a look at just what it is they are bidding on, so i dusted off my old digital camera and here are the results.

so now you have some idea as to what you are bidding on.

(just whats in the suitcases and the box, not whats on the shelves or in the cabinets ok    )

oh and i think ron will be adding quiet a bit more to this as things keep getting uncovered in his quest to raise money for
this worthy cause.

PeterS just beat me to it.

I can't compete with $800 - any chance of a 5 way split to $1000? I'll throw in an extra $50 to cover postage for my share.

Cheers

Looks like the time has come to speak of many things,

Like perhaps closing this off and settling on the 4 bidders at $200.00.each.

I have had a rumage and found Another 3......5/- Roos.

which I can put into the mix so everyone at least gets one, BTW, they are all 3rd W/Mk ,,all bar one are good to heavy, and one has a cnr perf missing.

I shall also add some more goodies over the next day or so.

I can divide it up into 4 lots, and perhaps do somewhat of a Draw as to who gets what,

Perhaps someone like Waroff might like to do the draw. :?:

if we can get everyone together at one time it would be great, so I shall turn it over to you lot to sort yourselves out,

Of Course this could all be academic if someone else suddenly "gasumps" the lot of you with a $1000.00.Bid.
