I was trolling through ebay this morning and I found this gem. While the front looks good, the scan of the back looks to me like their is a stain line across the stamp. In which case I would not consider it MNNNNNH but just a M copy. It is also centred low which would , in my opinion detract from the value of this stamp.

Quote:
Nice super POST OFFICE fresh and beautiful copy, strong sharp rich LUXURIANT color. Well centered for this value. It is faultless and hard to get in this MHHHHHH condition. Fantastic. In dealer price list it is ***POR*** price on request, and if available retail/Auction price for this item is $1000++. RECENTLY RELEASED 4TH EDITION OF AUSTRALIAN COMPREHENSIVE CATALOGUE No10 CV $875 BUT SELLING IN THE MARKET AT ABOVE $1000.

Waroff .. can you please add a LINK to such items being posted here - thanks. :)

=============

One day the Fraud Squad will hopefully mount an action against this frequent snake oil salesman.

http://www.stampboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=5631

For YEARS "stampcollectorboz" has frequently chosen to deliberately misrepresent the retail value of the over-graded material he often peddles to the clueless ebay bunnies.

The MOMENT you see a stamp scanned on a white background from this seller, you can near guarantee it is because is is off centre, and he is trying to disguise that reality as best he can.

Well centered for this value. ...... if available retail/Auction price for this item is $1000++. ..... SELLING IN THE MARKET AT ABOVE $1000.

All total FICTION.

I defy him or anyone, to show me where a noticeably off centred example like this has EVER sold for even half this alleged $1000 "retail" at auction.

Can anyone?

"ABOVE $1000" is pure and utter FICTION. Designed solely to mislead the folks who bid on ebay IMHO. And he knows it, that's the worse part.

Little wonder he has already had three "Holidays" as "Not a registered User" from ebay - that I am aware of.

Just so I don't incur the wrath of Glen further, here's the link. It's a step by step process to get it correct and I don't know how to use tiny URL and really I'm not interested in learning.

Bill no-one needs tinyurl.com for ebay links.

You simply remove ALL the stuff after the lot number.

ie. this monster

Is really this short link

Thanks for that Glen. I'm not in good spirits today, as I hurt my back and I am in bad pain. Indicid tablets haven't kicked in yet, so I can't sit comfortably.

Nothing worse than back/neck pain. Hope you feel better soon Waroff. Until you do, take it easy!

I am thinking that I will have to revise my interpretation of 'Faultless' and 'SUPERB' after looking at this, or maybe I need to go and get my eyes seen to. Is it me, or is this 'slightly' off-centre?

I have adjusted the colours so the contrast will show how bad this stamp really is.
How did he get the top of the crown to extend into the hole of the perfs above it?
