My prize has finally arrived - 3 weeks from Cypress, Texas to Gundaroo, NSW! A lovely selection of stamps on the cover, but sadly one of the mailing machines (?) along the way has taken a nick out of the block of four, and some postal person has stuck a yellow strip over two of the stamps.

But inside, safe and sound, well worth the wait!! Added to my New Zealand collection.

The yellow strip as ideally would be pretty obvious, is a Post-It product, and removes in a second, and a wet finger will re affix the nick in the block.

Nice gift.

Thank you Glen, yes, indeed, it was just a peel-off strip, I was just a bit annoyed it was stuck over the stamps rather than of the envelope. And, yes, the peeled up corner was pushed down again, but that still means it is damaged.

And yes, a very nice gift. Rose-growing is one of my hobbies.

The Moderators have discussed the eligibility rules for this long running Free gift thread.

We have decided the rules should be modified a little, and post #1 of this thread now carries these new rules which apply from today.

The main change was that gift claimants need to have been members for at least 7 days before claiming a gift, as well as complying with the other elements of the Rules -

To claim a gift on this thread, you must:

1) Be a new Stampboards member, with at least 10 posts at the time of claiming their Gift, and have been a member for at least 7 days, and not more than 30 days, when making the request - one of which posts must be in the "Roll Call" thread, that all members must introduce themselves on - http://tinyurl.com/RollCallSB

AND

2) Have contributed at least 3 philatelic posts, not including any request for freebies anywhere, and at least one of your posts will have included a philatelic image anywhere (posted in the thread, not as a link) - preferably an item(s) from your collection. This is to ensure you are fully active, and have hopefully learnt how to post images onto the board - a very simple and essential process.

GIFT #109 - Wildlife of Kagera National Park, Rwanda

The gift contains a set of wildlife of Kagera park in Rwanda. This set was issued in 1965 in the good period of Rwanda when they issued stamps used for postage.
