Can anyone please tell what is the maximum resolution of an image we can attach here?

A nice envelope. Posted by dragging as an attachment.
Second, a nice stamp included via the URL command line from ImGur - leaving the "S".

As it VERY clearly says in post #1 of this thread -BlackTuesday wrote: ↑15 Jul 2020 07:22Can anyone please tell what is the maximum resolution of an image we can attach here?
Maximum Size is now a whopping 1024, a big 15% increase from the maximum on the old board.

Thanks Global Administrator!
I guess that means 1024 x 1024 is the maximum resolution then.

Thanks 'Sheriff'. Found the process very easy to follow, in fact, easier than it was with better results.

Re: Test and post your images direct onto June 2020 NEW Stampboards
To get a good close up scan the glass must be clean and I use a black card that I press down with a weight onto the stamp to make it as flat as possible otherwise you will get an area of the stamp that will scan fuzzy.
I take a reference scan at 600dpi that is the size of an A5 sheet of paper - that's usually good enough for me, (that's the size of scans you usually see posted at full size on Stampboards).
I may also take a 1200 or in this case a 2400dpi scan that if printed is the size of an A1 Poster size (the size of a towel).
The scan above shows the 600 dpi reduced to life size and pasted into the cropped upper corner of the 2400dpi scan .
The scan is showing the larger image at 100% so you can imagine the size of the whole stamp!
My software has options to improve the image, one of them being "sharpen", which is what I did to the second image.
So.... Good scanner, clean glass, flat stamp.

Re: Test and post your images direct onto June 2020 NEW Stampboards
Went a bit silly and tried 4800dpi. Struggles with the focus and clarity, need the microscope for this close.
Can't scan more than 1 stamp and took about 4 min to scan!
But I can now easily measure the DieII angles.

Re: Test and post your images direct onto June 2020 NEW Stampboards
Thanks for the technical "behind the scenes" information Allanswood.
That Die II value tablet spur is impressive!
Now I need to ask you to appease my ignorance, and explain what are the "DieII angles" you referred to, please.
At first I thought that "Diell" was someone's name, but now I think it's "Die II angles". Perhaps that's the acute
angle between the spur and the shield-frame? Is there a progression in the size of that angle as the printings
continued?
That's enough guesswork on my part. Now, over to you for the actual information, thanks.

Stamp collecting is a very visual hobby - members are strongly encouraged to add captioned images to all posts, and now this is easy with Stampboards hosting its own images.
Since our major tech update on June 1st 2020, you can add images here directly - from your phone or laptop or tablet etc -
Please test your direct image loading skills below! It is much easier than you may think. Use ''PREVIEW'' for your first few tries.
I am testing the new image-direct functionality to post pictures of an amazing Vintage Christopher Columbus hand-made album I picked up many years ago. I have upgraded a few of the stamps (like for like as to not detract from the fantastic theme of each page). Whoever made this originally must have spent countless hours.

The image is sideways. It also shows up sideways in PhotoShop, where I was able to rotate it upright.Flabbergast wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020 07:46

What I'm saying is that the reason why the image shows up sideways is because it was saved sideways. The image is actually sideways.Flabbergast wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020 08:37Thank you Marshairusty - trouble is I have just been trying everyday possible but do not have photoshop on my MacBook Air. The sensors in your phone detect the orientation of the device as you're taking a picture and then do their best to determine which orientation was the intended one. Sometimes this doesn't work.
If you open the Photos app on your iPhone and view the specific photo, it should give you an edit option, and you can rotate the image there.

When you take your photo with your iPhone, make sure to have your home button on the right side ( taking picture in landscape mode). Try it and see if the pic loads properlyFlabbergast wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020 08:37Thank you Marshairusty - trouble is I have just been trying everyday possible but do not have photoshop on my MacBook Air. Re: Test and post your images direct onto June 2020 NEW Stampboards
Many thanks everyone who gave me advice on inserting photos
Interestingly - I took the photo as said librarianc - but when I tried to insert it it was sideways - but I went back into photo and made it vertical and then inserted!! It worked anyway!
ps this stamp is probably an obvious one - but not sure of colour - as obviously this can change its value
Cheers

Thank you Glen
Wow this new way of posting is wonderful and so very helpful to everyone.
I will then be able to post my whole collection if that is helpful to collectors of the copyright stamps.
I can send you the spreadsheet when complete if it helps with your reference or can simply post here.
